Abstract

Preventive dental materials are designed to prevent disease or injury to the teeth and supporting tissues. One of the important above mentioned materials is flouridegels. The effectiveness of the FLOURIDE ION lowering the incidence of dental caries has been stabilished by numerous clinical studies. One method of accomplish topical application of flouride is by the use of acidulated phosphate flouride gel. (A.P.F) in trays. In this study the A.P.F subjected to chemical and physical analysis and main ingradient of A.P.F is defined as: NaF, phosphoric acid, hydroflouric acid. The bulk media of A.P.F is a natural THIXOTROPIC gel. In addition to chemical composition analysis extensive experiment conducted on charactrization of hydrogel inorderto control flow behavior on clinical application.
