MODELING OF INCREASING ABSORPTION OPTICAL BISTABILITY IN BULK ZNSE AT DIFFERENT THICKNESSES

Abstract

 In this present paper we report a mathematical analysis of absorptive bistability either in combination with self-fousing or in the absence of it in BULK ZNSE at room temperature, at 80-300 miliwatt power levels, for the 476-nm visible wavelength. This method is based on the nonlinear variations of temperature-dependent absorption coefficient near the band edge. It has been also obtained some theoretical input-output curves, showing hysteresis loop, that clearly reproduce the main qualitative features of the experiments with generally good quantitative agreement. In addition, changes in the hysteresis loops have been considered when the two parameters of thickness of the sample and size of the input beam have been changed.
