Abstract

A general understanding of economics is optimal use of scarce resources which productivity also emphasizes this concept. In this paper, we employ the Input- Output General Equilibrium framework and investigate the relation between R& D expenditure, human capital, capital deepening and TFP growth using PANEL DATA for nine industries for the period 1984-1999. In this paper, we use the Input-Output tables of IRAN for the years, 1984, 1988, 1993 and 1999. The results of this paper show that research and development activities, human and physical capital have positive and significant effect on TFP growth.
