Abstract

The POPULATION DYNAMIC of jinga shrimp stocks (Metapenaeus affinis) was determined from Bandar Abbas to Sirik coastal waters of Hormuzgan Province in 2001-2003. The sampling was carried out once a month through Swept Area Method. Analysis of carapace length frequency showed an upswing mean in spring season. The growth coefficient (k) was 1.4 for female and 1.1 for male. The asymptotic carapace length (CL∞) was 43.5 mm and 36mm for female and male, respectively. Total mortality (z), natural mortality (M) and fishing mortality (F) were determined to be 3.71, 1.77 and 1.94 for male and 3.14,1.97 and 1.17 for female, respectively. Exploitation rate was 0.37 and 0.52 for females and males, respectively.
