Abstract

Religious Education is one of the priorities of the Education System in Iran. However, it is argued, the vision driving the respective programs is in dire need of reconsideration and the resulting program in need of total reengineering. The authors assert that the existing Religious Education Curricula, specially in Secondary Schools, are not responsive to the changing conditions sorrounding. The new generation both at national and global level.Thus the experiences obtained in this realm are not up to the task and can not be trusted to effectively govern a lifetime productive encounter with issues pertaining to values and belief systems. This line of argument leads to the conclution that the continuation of the current state of affairs will in deed turn the Religious Education Curricula to "null" curriculum, albiet a null that can not be detected at the first glance.
