Abstract

HEPATITIS B infection is among the major health problems in the world. The only sure way to prevent this infection is VACCINATION. This study is conducted to evaluate HB IMMUNITY five years after full VACCINATION in children. 242 six-year-old children, who had been vaccinated at the first year of their life, were randomly selected. Their serum specimen were examined for ANTI HBS. Findings revealed that after five years, 32.6% (79 cases) were seronegative (Anti HBS< 10 lu/L). This finding is likely to imply the necessity of boosters.
