Abstract

In issue 35 of Nameh-ye Farhangestan, there is an article entitled: "Did Farhang SIrazi write Humor?". In this article, the writer has ascribed three humorous books to SĪrazĪ: Sekanĵabiyyeh, written in a mixed verse and prose language, in whose introduction the writer calls himself Ibn al-Šeyk al-MofĪd Mopammad HāŠem; Zakāarif, written by the same person; and DĪvān-e Hazl, apparently written by the same person as the writer has referred to himself as Abū HāŠem, Ibn MoM and Šeyk Abū. None of these books belongs to Farhang SĪrazi. The writer claims to have a copy of the latter book which was published in Bombay in 1959 and on whose cover appears the name of a Seyyed Asadollāh Garrā. The book was presented to Nāsereddln Šāh, who ordered the book to be censored. This article is a detailed explanation of the above story.
