Abstract

TODAY’S NUMEROUS EFFECTS OF AIR POLLUTION SPECIALLY HEALTHY EFFECTS SUCH AS RESPIRATORY, HEART AND NERVOUS DISEASES, HAVE RESULTED IN THE FACT THAT MONITORING AND CONTROL OF AIR QUALITY HAVE BECOME AN INTEGRAL PART OF ALL SOCIETIES MAJOR PROBLEMS.AS A RESULT, ONE OF THE MOST EFFECTIVE MEASURES FOR MONITORING, CONTROL AND PRECAUTIONARY AND PREVENTIVE ACTIONS TAKEN AGAINST UNDESIRABLE AND POLLUTED AIR QUALITY IN EXCESS OF ACCEPTED STANDARDS, IS TO DETERMINE THE ACTUAL AMOUNTS OF AIR POLLUTANTS AND PROMPT COMMUNICATION OF THE FINDINGS TO THE PUBLIC.WITH THIS OBJECTIVE IN MIND, THE UNITED STATES ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY INFORMS THE PUBLIC ON DAILY BASIS OF CITIES AIR QUALITY THROUGH MASS MEDIA.
