Abstract

PIMPINELLAAFFINISLEDEB.IS ONE OF THE SPECIES OF PIMPINELLA GENUS BELONGING TO THE FAMILY OF APIACEAE.THIS AROMATIC PLANT WERE USED AS FOOD FLAVORING IN NORTHERN REGIONS IN IRAN [1].IN THIS STUDY WE HAVE INVESTIGATED CHEMICAL CONSTITUTIONS OF N-HEXANE AND ETHYL ACETATE EXTRACTS OF P. AFFINISUSING SILICA GEL COLUMN CHROMATOGRAPHY, THIN LAYER CHROMATOGRAPHY AND NMR SPECTROSCOPY. AS A RESULT, B-SITOSTEROL AND DAUCOSTEROL (B-SITOSTEROLGLUCOSIDE) HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED.
