Abstract

SOME LAB RESULTS HAVE VERY CRITICAL AND IMPORTANT EFFECTS ON CLINICAL DECISION MAKING. THESE VALUES ARE MORE IMPORTANT IN EMERGENCY WARDS AND SOMETIMES PLAY THE MAIN ROLE IN PATIENTS` LIFE AND DEATH. THE LAB STAFF SHOULD KNOW WHICH VALUE IS MORE CRITICAL AND EMERGENT AND WHICH IS NOT. SINCE 1970S, IN THE EMERGENCY WARDS ACCORDING TO DRAMATIC INCREASING IN CLIENTS, CLINICIANS DECIDED TO USE A SORTING SYSTEM– TRIAGE – AS A STRATEGIC METHOD. TRIAGE AS A SORTING SYSTEM WHEN THE SUPPLY AND DEMAND OF SERVICES ARE NOT IN PROPORTION, TRIES TO PRIORITIZE PATIENTS BASED ON THEIR CLINICAL SITUATION AND SEVERITY OF ILLNESS.
