Abstract

Bacterial infection following major BURN injury leads to neutrophile dysfunction and NEUTROPENIA which results in serious SEPSIS. Administration of GRAOLOCYTE-COLON SPECIFIC FACTOR (G-CSF) is useful for treatment of NEUTROPENIA and decreasing the complications of severe infection following BURN injuries. A 2- year old boy with major BURN injury, despite administration of broad spectrum antibiotics, became neutropenic followed by serious SEPSIS. After administration of G-CSF, NEUTROPENIA was resolved. Finally, after surgical debridement and skin graft, the patient recovered and discharged.
