Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of EMOTIONALLY FOCUSED COUPLE THERAPY on MARITAL INTIMACY and self- efficacy in students. The method of research was quasi-experimental with pretest - posttest and control group design. The statistical population consisted of all student COUPLES who visited university counseling centers in Tehran. The sample of study consisted of 28 subjects (14 COUPLES) randomly selected and assigned in experimental and control group. The experimental group participated in 8 sessions of EMOTIONALLY FOCUSED COUPLE THERAPY. The measurement instrument was MARITAL INTIMACY Needs Questionnaire (MINQ) and Coping self–Efficacy Scale (CSE) and Demographic Data Questionnaire. The result were analyzed by SPSS software. The results indicated that, EMOTIONALLY FOCUSED COUPLE THERAPY increased MARITAL INTIMACY and SELF-EFFICACY. MANCOVA revealed that EFT enhanced sub- scales of MARITAL INTIMACY and SELF-EFFICACY.
