Title

Identify strategies to reduce driving casualties

Abstract

 This article seeks to identify three major strategies for identifying the causes of traffic accidents, examining the dimensions, components and indicators of factors affecting traffic accidents and accurately determine the contribution of various factors in the occurrence of accidents and traffic casualties in order to significantly reduce the incidence of road accidents and casualties in three periods of short-term, medium-term and long-term. Due to the scope of work, three types of research methods were selected: correlation, comparative study and field finding with three statistical populations: 1. Drivers of private and public cars in Iran (with a population of about 30, 000, 000); 2. Developed countries of the world that have been able to significantly reduce the incidence of traffic casualties in the last two decades (with a population of about 50 countries); 3. Experts aware of traffic issues living in Tehran (with a community of about 1000 people). The sample size was 2900 people, 10 countries and 50 people were selected by multi-stage cluster sampling, simple random sampling and snowball. Methods and tools of data collection were questionnaires, documents and interviews, respectively. The validity and reliability of the instrument were calculated based on the content and logical validity and reliability using Cronbach's alpha coefficient. According to the results, imposing restrictions on high-risk drivers, increasing public awareness about behavioral culture, monitoring the public transport fleet, controlling high-risk behaviors, promoting rescue, etc., are things that reduce Driving Casualties.
