Abstract

 Attracting foreign investors and harnessing their financial capacity, technology and knowledge is one of the best ways to develop competitiveness. The aim of this study is to evaluate the factors affecting the attraction of foreign investors in technology transfer projects in the Oil and Gas Industry. For this purpose, the National Company for Southern Oilfields-the largest Oil company in Iran-was selected as the case of research. The statistical population of the present study consists of industry managers and experts as well as university experts with experience in the field of factors involved in attracting foreign investors. In order to collect data, 5 members of the community were surveyed using purposeful sampling-judgment method. For data analysis, BWM technique was used, including new techniques and performance based on pairwise comparisons. The results of the data analysis indicate that the criteria for return on investment, security of principal and investment profit and access to natural capital are among the most important criteria for attracting foreign investment in the Oil and Gas Industry. Finally, practical suggestions for managers and scientific suggestions for future research of researchers have been proposed.
