Abstract

Ectoparasites infestation in native CHICKENS is very important and it causes low level of health in their culture method and their common keeping with other animals. In the first six months of 2005 this survey was done on 50 native CHICKENS that were prepared with random sampling method from different parts of TABRIZ city. ECTOPARASITES of birds were gathered keeping with routine parasitology method and the parasites species and numbers were recognized and counted. From the studied CHICKENS, 44 (88%) were infected and 6 (12%) not infected. Parasites found and their infestation was Cuclotogaster heterographus (86%), Meopon gallinae (80%), Goniodes dissimilis (62%), Lipeurus caponis (36%) and from acarins they were Argas persicus (18%) and Cnemidocoptes mutans (8%).
