Abstract

Mare MASTITIS is rare. Unlike cattle lack of intensive milk production system and similar to cattle and anatomical position of mammary gland resulted less exposure of mammary gland to environmental trauma and possible infection. An Arabian MARE suffered from MASTITIS was referred to Ahvaz veterinary clinic. After clinical examination, milk samples were collected under sterile condition and submitted to laboratory for bacterial culture and identification test. The results of the culture and biochemical tests showed that the STREPTOCOCCUS ZOOEPIDEMICUS is the etiologocal agent. This case was treated with general and local antibiotic therapy.
