Pages

  6-19

Abstract

Purpose: Examines the themes of postal stamps in the first 12 years of MOHAMMAD REZA SHAH (1941-1953) as a graphical narrator of the history and culture of IRAN.Method and Research Design: A comprehensive collection of stamps were surveyed. The images of stamps were classified to identify the themes and compared with those which published during the years of Reza Shah (1925-1941) Findings: Dominance of Islamic and medieval history of IRAN themes is obvious during the 1941- 1953 period. This is in sharp contrast to the themes of previous period (1925-1941) which overwhelmingly represent ancient IRANian themes.
