Abstract: 

Currently, Carbon quantum dots have attracted considerable attention due to their unique properties and desirable advantages. High crystallinity, water solubility, good dispersibility, small size, low toxicity, inexpensive raw materials, high chemical stability, environmental compatibility, low cost, stability under light, desirable charge transfer with advanced electronic conductivity, as well as specific thermal and mechanical properties are some of these features. Carbon quantum dots have various applications in different fields. Fabrication of precise chemical and biological sensors, bioimaging, solar cells, drug tracking, nanomedicine, light-emitting diodes (LEDs), and electrocatalysts are some of these applications. Biological sensors based on Carbon quantum dots are capable of detecting various metal ions, acids, proteins, biotin, polypeptides, DNA and miRNA, water pollutants, hematin, drugs, vitamins, and other chemicals. In the present study, the properties of Carbon quantum dots and some of their fabrication and applications methods have been addressed. In continuation of the paper, the effect of Carbon quantum dots on important factors in plants such as growth and development, photosynthesis, absorption and transportation of substances, resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses, as well as their application in agriculture has been investigated.

Abstract: 

This study was conducted during summer and winter of 2018- 2019 in the agricultural research field of Shahid Chamran University. Experimental design was split- plot based on RCBD with three replications. The main plot was the type of agricultural system in three levels including conventional (Conv), organic (Org) and sustainable (Sust) (integrated between Conv and Org) and sup- plot was the type of pre- cultivated crop in sequence with wheat including cultivation of mung bean (M- W), corn (C- W), sesame (S- W) and fallow (F- W). Yield quantity (yield and its component) and quality (grain protein), an estimate of photosynthesis matter transfer index of wheat and soil organic Carbon (SOC) after one double-cropping were measured. The result showed that the highest (545.04 g/m2) and the lowest (409.28 g/m2) seed yields were obtained in Conv and Org respectively. In contract, with the changing type of system from Conv to Org, grain protein was increased significantly (from 8.3 to 9.6 %). In addition, the highest (535.47 g/m2) yield of wheat was obtained from M- W double cropping. On the other hands the highest remobilization and current photosynthesis matter were obtained in the organic agricultural system with M- W and conventional with M- W double cropping. The situation of SOC showed that the highest (33.18 mg/g) SOC was obtained in the organic agricultural system with C- W double cropping. The reason for improving SOC in the organic and sustainable agricultural system was application of organic matter (compost and vermicompost) and crop residue management. Totally, from the crop ecology point of view, sustainable agricultural method with a sequence of M- W was the most desirable system.

Abstract: 

In this study, a simple and practical method for preparation of new ionic liquids is described. These ionic liquids react with palladium (II) to produce palladium (0) catalyst which is proved by ultra-violet spectroscopy. The use of this new system in Pd-catalyzed Heck reaction provides a useful protocol for the efficient Carbon-Carbon bond formation in the absence of base. Also, the use of these ionic liquids as reducing agent, ligand and reaction media in base- and copper-free palladium catalyzed sonogashira reaction of aryl halides is explained.

Abstract: 

IN THIS STUDY THE CO2 ADSORPTION BEHAVIOR OF MULTI-WALLED Carbon NANOTUBES (MWNTS) WERE INVESTIGATED FOR A MIXTURE OF CO2/AR. MWNTS WERE MODIFIED WITH UREA (CH4N2O) UNDER TWO DIFFERENT LOADING DURATION. AFTER MODIFICATION THE CO2 UPTAKE REACHES FROM 53.92 TO 64.13 MG ADSORBED PER G ADSORBENT FOR CNT-U4. THESE FINDINGS INDICATE CONSIDERABLE POTENTIAL OF FUNCTIONALIZED Carbon NANOTUBES IN COMAPRISON WITH UNTREATED ADSORBENTS.

Abstract: 

Carbon DIOXIDE IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT GREENHOUSE GASES, WHICH IS WIDELY EMITTED INTO THE ATMOSPHERE THROUGH FLUE GAS OF VARIETY OF SOURCES. IN THIS WORK THREE KINDS OF Carbon MOLECULAR SIEVES ADSORBENTS WERE SYNTHESIZED WITH PISTACHIO SHELL AS A PRECURSOR AT THREE DIFFERENT TEMPERATURES; 650 OC, 750 OC AND 850 OC. A FOLLOWING THE SYNTHESIS PROCESS N2 ADSORPTION ISOTHERM AT 293 K WAS TAKEN AND ALSO BY USING DR EQUATION, ADSORBENT’S MICROPORE VOLUME WAS CALCULATED. CALCULATIONS INDICATE THAT THE SAMPLE SYNTHESIZED IN 650 OC HAS A MICROPORE VOLUME EQUAL TO 0.241CM3/GR WHICH IS THE HIGHEST ONE IN COMPARISON WITH TWO OTHER ADSORBENTS. ALSO BREAKTHROUGH CURVES OF THE ADSORBENTS IN CO2 REMOVAL PROCESS FROM FLUE GAS WERE INVESTIGATED AND COMPARED TO CURVES OF A COMMERCIAL ADSORBENT, TAKEDA. RESULTS SHOW THAT ADSORPTION CAPACITY IN SAMPLE CMS-650 IS HIGH, AND THIS IS IN AGREEMENT WITH HIGHER MICROPORE VOLUME OF THIS SAMPLE.
