Abstract: 

The edge and total versions of geometric-arithmetic (GA) index of graphs are introduced based on the end-vertex degrees of edges of their line and total graphs, respectively. In this paper, the edge and total GA indices are computed for some graphs by using some results on GA index and graphs.

Abstract: 

In this paper a semi-active structural damage control strategy using MR dampers and Neural Networks is presented. A multilayer feed-forward neural network has been designed. The input layer is relative displacement of stories and the output layer is the voltage needed for MR damper. The neural network is learned to predict the voltage needed for MR damper that can minimize the Park & Ang damage index of structure. Genetic algorithm has been used to learn the neural network. The Park & Ang damage index of the structure has been used as the fittnees function of the genetic algorithm. To evaluate the structural control system a nonlinear 3 story benchmark building has been selected. The results show the the proposed structural control system can effectively reduce the Park & Ang damage index of the structure.

Abstract: 

Introduction: According to the urban green space development, water resources reduction, and other various factors, it seems necessary to use of sprinkler irrigation in irrigating the urban green space. There is no clear and principled method to determine the sprinkler system layout of green spaces. Sprinkler layout usually has a triangular or square pattern and is estimated automatically. In this paper, using genetic algorithm, the location of Sprinkler system installation is determined. In order to provide the maximum distribution uniformity.

Abstract: 

In order to successfully apply evolutionary learning to the increasing complex Multiagent Systems, we must develop new techniques to improve the performance of the learning process. Evolutionary algorithms, by themselves are very slow; when applied to a complex multiagent system, convergence problem becomes more critical since appropriate coordination strategies between the constituent parts should be achieved and this highly increases the complexity of the problem [1]. Here, we successfully apply a layered Genetic Algorithm to evolve behavioral strategies in a multiagent environment namely The Pursuit problem. Experimental results show that this method outperforms single layer GA and an auction based-traditional algorithm.

Abstract: 

Dimensional synthesis of mechanisms to trace given points is an important issue in mechanism and machine science. Having no exact solution makes this issue an optimization problem. This study offers an optimization approach for the dimensional synthesis of planar mechanisms. Four-bar mechanisms having one degree of freedom (DOF) are chosen as the configurations. The proposed method is implemented by establishing the objective functions with specified constraints and searching for the results by using an optimization algorithm. Genetic Algorithm (GA) in Optimization Toolbox-Matlab® is selected as a solver. Different types of four-bar mechanisms like crank-rocker and double-crank including different target points are performed. Mechanisms are depicted by resulted parameters and a Matlab® script prepared plays their animations. As a result, it is proved that the mechanisms whose dimensional properties are obtained by the GA solver have a good tracing capability for the desired paths. This study has the property of being a design guide. Its application is not limited to four bar mechanism. Planar mechanisms with different configurations can be easily synthesized by using this technique.

Abstract: 

In this study, the optical and magnetic properties of compounds in hexagonal and orthorhombic phases are investigated. The calculations have been carried out in the framework of the functional density theory with various approximations such as local density approximation, Generalized gradient approximation with the pseudopotential and stationary load method, and using the quantum-espresso computational code. In this study, the optical and magnetic properties are calculated and the results obtained Compare with other available data. The dynamic contribution of the dielectric function indicates that the gap is zero with the strip structure. In calculating the total torque, the uranium atom has the highest share in both combinations. The share of gallium and germanium atoms is negligible.

Abstract: 

This research presents new algorithms for sub transmission simultaneous substation and network expansion planning.  Given an existing system model, the projected load growth in a target year and various system expansion options, the algorithms find the optimal mix of system expansion options to minimize the cost function subject to various system constraints and single contingencies on lines and transformers.The system expansion options considered include building new sub transmission lines/substations, the capacity to be upgraded and the service area of HV/MV substations. In this research, Genetic Algorithm (GA) with new coding, Ant Colony algorithm (AC) and hybrid Ant Colony and Genetic Algorithm (AC&GA) methods are employed. The optimization results are compared with successive elimination method to demonstrate the performance improvement.
