Abstract:

Avicenna is one of the prominent thoughtful characters of the Islamic world who has always attempted to make his philosophical theories compatible with Islamic teachings. In fact, Islam has been a source of inspiration for him in many of his philosophical ideas. He believes that desirable governance would be realized along with the presence of prophet; therefore, in order to explain the necessity of Islamic governance, he proposes the theory of text-based raised caliphate and Imamate. Then, provided that a text-based raised imam or caliph is not presented, he discusses the role of the jurists of full needed qualifications. Having an analytic view, the paper attends to Avicenna’s idea in this filed as well as its achieved results.

Abstract:

Imamate is one of the most important and multifaceted issues in Islamic theology. The main issue of the research is the evaluation of Tabarsi's interpretation of the Imamate verses by comparing his interpretation with the Twelvers narrators such as al-Sharīf al-Murtaḍā, al-Shaykh al-Mufid, Shaykh Tusi and Abu al-Futuh al-Razi. The research hypothesis is the continuation of Shaykh Tusi's approach in Tabarsi's commentary and the predominance of comprehensive commentary compilation tools in the 6th century on the interpretation of Imamate verses. Present research innovation is to focus on the Imamate verses and Tabarsi's interpretation. Based on what has been analyzed in five areas, it is possible to consider Tabarsi's interpretation of these verses as influenced by his position in Twelvers exegesis. Before Tabarsi, Shaykh Tusi tried to interpret the Imamate verses with an approximate approach and to avoid sensitive topics in these verses interpretation, while explaining the Shi'ite interpretation point of view. He established the Twelvers interpretation method in the form of the first Shi’ite comprehensive interpretation. Tabarsi also established and promoted his path.

Abstract:

Civilization consists of components, some of which are human and some of which are tools.Human components are directly influenced and formed by ideas and beliefs. In the Islamic worldview, there are strong and strong beliefs that have an effect on the development, formation, strengthening and excellence of civilizational components. "Teaching Imamate" is one of those beliefs. This research has been carried out under the title of the civilizational capacities of the doctrine of Imamate, with the aim of introducing these capacities in a descriptive-analytical way and using library resources in an interdisciplinary (theological-civilizational) way.The importance of research is evident from two aspects: one is to show the effectiveness of the teachings of the Imamiyyah in the field of civilization, and the other;Explaining the pure springs of thought in the direction of civilization. In the structure of the research, first the civilizational components are briefly listed, and then the attributes and affairs of the Imamate are mentioned and their influence on the most important civilizational components (which have the most influence from this doctrine) is expressed. The research findings show; The doctrine of Imamate in "the relationship between the Imam and the Ummah" and "building society, culture and civilization" has unique capacities: correct knowledge and worldview, rationality, central justice, creating security, rule of justice, prosperity, unity and cohesion. Obedience and moral virtues of the people of the society are some of the civilizational capacities that are realized in the light of the doctrine of Imamate, and with the presence of the Imam, or they reach perfection and give results.

Abstract:

One of the special encyclopedias of the Qur’, an written by Westerners in the present era is the encyclopedia of the Qur’, an by Mr. Oliver Leaman. Considering the place of encyclopedias and their importance in the reference of researchers and non-Muslim and even Muslim audiences, it is necessary to review them, especially from the Shiite point of view. The current study deals with the introduction and critique of the entry "Imamate" from the Qur’, an encyclopedia, written by Mrs. Arzina R. Lalani and edited by Mr. Oliver Leaman. This entry in that encyclopedia works on the issue of Imamate in the meaning of imam, its application in the Holy Quran and the opinions of different Islamic sects. The author starts the main discussion by referring to the verse of the appointment of Ibrahim as an imam and follows up the discussion by providing the concepts and issues discussed in the Qur’, an and then briefly presents the views of Islamic schools of thought. The present study is looking for an answer to the question of what are the strengths and weaknesses of this entry, based on the Shia principles and perspective, using a descriptiveanalytical method. The findings of the study suggest that despite the strengths of this article, many shortcomings and weaknesses can be seen, which are: Lack of proper and accurate explanation of the term "imam and Imamate", lack of logical course and proper order, biased view on the issue of Imamate, lack of respect for the Shia view and its reliable sources, lack of proper explanation of Imam’, s infallibility.

Abstract:

After the martyrdom of Imam Ali and due to the expansion of the Ahl al-Bayt family, the differences between the children of the Imams increased to obtain the position of Imamate, which undoubtedly brought a high spiritual and material status. Some children of Imams who had not reached the position of Imamate, considered this position as their right and did not accept the Imamate of their brother and even opposed their brother and tried to usurp his position of Imamate. Among these people was Abdullah Afteh who, after the death of his father, Imam Sadiq, considered the Imamate as his right and claimed the Imamate. The aim of the authors of this research is to investigate the reasons for Abdullah's action to take over his brother's place with a descriptive-analytical approach, and considering that there are pieces of evidence of his Imamate, on what grounds was his Imamate declared rejected? The results show that many factors, including the belief of the hadith narrators, the support of the Shiites, and especially the silence of Imam Kazem, made Abdullah more determined in his claim, and various reasons, including scientific disability, not having a son, and not introducing a successor, The passage of time caused the Shiites to return from believing in his Imamate.

Abstract:

Purpose: The Islamic Revolution stands at the threshold of a civilizational renaissance. Since Imāmiyya Shia (Twelver Shīʿism) religion is considered as its theoretical background, obviously, to effectively compete with other ideologies, is crucial for Imamiyya Shia to leverage its core principles in order to construct a new Islamic civilization. By examining the inherent capabilities and civilizational prospects Imamic thought, we can determine the superiority of its Islamic and Shiite ideology. And show that the concept of Imamate, a fundamental pillar of Shi'ism, possesses significant soft power and ideological capital, making it imperative to study its potential for building a Islamic civilization. What capabilities do they have to build a new Islamic civilization?.Civilizations require a software and theoretical framework to thrive and remain stable, and lacking that they either do not take off or are not stable and will quickly decline. Imamate, as a Shiite civilizational criterion, is the provider of this theoretical layer for the modern Islamic civilization. Achieving comprehensive progress a prerequisite for a balanced civilization, necessitates in-depth development and expansion of sciences, particularly in the realm of civilizational studies. If this civilization is to be formed and move forward based on Imamat, it must be involved with the issues of civilization. The introduction of this process is the recognition of the necessity of civilizational research and studies in the thought of Imamate.Because recognizing the necessity of investigations and studies is one of the preliminary topics for entering into any theoretical discussions on a subject, and neglecting this, will beards some challenges for such studies.  On the other hand, explaining the necessity of these studies has been the basis for drawing and discovering the prospects of its development in the realm of thought and theory.Achieving all-round progress that is necessary to reach a balanced civilization, except with the deepening and development of human sciences in vain of this discussions is not achievable. This research tries to provide the necessary platforms for the production of theoretical literature of Islamic civilization based on the doctrine of Imamate in Shiism; Because the clearer, more precise and stronger the theoretical literature of a phenomenon is, the greater the possibility of its realization. This literature helps the rulers and politicians to move towards the general horizon of civilization, to base the general policies of the system in various fields on the general direction of civilization, and it is useful for the researchers of this field to pay attention to the evolution of such researches.Methodology: The current research is organized based on the library method and analytical approach.Findings: Considering that civilizational studies in the thought of Imamate is a broad and practical approach to this theological doctrine, this approach can clarify its capacities for modern Islamic civilization and extend the domain of Imam's affairs to social fields. Conclusion: This research shows that producing theoretical literature for civilization building and inflating civilizational issues, maximizing the heritage, clarifying the advantages of Islamic thought over material thought, discovering the existing general capacity and creating harmony between them, identifying the gaps and leading researches to bridge the theoretical gaps, the maximum assessment of the capacities of the Islamic religion and smoothing the process of achieving a new Islamic civilization, the ability to implement the social rules of Islam, the alignment and synergy of epistemological research on a large scale, Getting rid of generalization and leading to problem-centeredness and practicalization are also some of the factors showing the necessity of civilizational studies in the thought of Imamat.

Abstract:

Some people believe that Imamate has been one of the most controversial issues in Islamic History. It is addressed in theological writings of many Islamic Schools of Thought. One of which notable among them was the "'Asha'ira School" which is the subject matter of this article. The overall assessment is that the 'Asha'ira conceptualization of Imamate, despite its postulation in the theological context, is basically oriented to Jurisprudence. The 'Asha'ira themselves explain their theological treatment as arising from the same contextual treatment in the Shi'ite writings. The 'Asha'ira considers that selection or induction of Imam is an obligatory necessity. At the same time, however, they believe that once an Imam is installed somewhere, the obligation of the others is sufficiently fulfilled, which in the Islamic terminology is called "Wajib Kifa'i".
