Pearlescent pigments, which simulate the effect of natural pearl, comprise platalet substrates, such as MICA, coated with single or multiple layers of metal oxides or mixed metal oxides with high refractive indexes. The most widely used coating material on platelet substrates is titanium dioxide. Recently, the conductive pigments have found a diverse range of application in mining, oil-gas field, the cheMICAl industry, automobile industry and the aerospace industry. These pigments are prepared by using homogenous precipitation method with MICA titania as substrate, Sn4+/Sb3+ and urea as precipitant. Furthermore, several parameters such as molar ratio of Sn4+/Sb3+, pH and temperature influence the pearlescent effect or electrical conductivity of synthesis samples.
