The laterite deposit in the Bavanat area of Fars province is promising for NICKEL metal extraction. The ore is an oxide type and in this research, microbial leaching experiments were done using common bacteria (Thiobacillus) for NICKEL sulfide ores. Characterization of the sample showed that the NICKEL grade was about 1.14%, which was dispersed in the matrix of iron ores. In the microbial leaching process, primary experiments were carried out with a 9K culture medium that did not have favorable results. New experiments were carried out with the addition of required materials such as sulfur to culture media. Primary experiments with this culture media showed that after 20 days, 21% of the NICKEL in the ore sample was extracted. The effective parameters on microbial leaching include microbial leaching time, sulfur content added to the culture media, and mineral content that were optimized by this method. Optimal values for the above parameters were 10 days, 10%, and 10 g, respectively. The maximum amount of NICKEL extraction in optimum conditions reached 65%. After this step, iron impurities were removed from the solution of microbial leaching using a combination of precipitation (with sodium hydroxide) and solvent extraction method. Finally, the solution was subjected to solvent extraction which used a selective NICKEL organic solvent (Cyanex 301 is a highly selective solvent for a NICKEL) and a pure NICKEL solution with 112 ppm was obtained.

AN ELECTROCHEMICAL APPROACH TO NANOSTRUCTURED NI/PDNI CATALYST DESIGN USING THE ELECTRODEPOSITION PROCESS AND GALVANIC REPLACEMENT TECHNIQUE IS PRESENTED. THE PROCEDURE CONSISTED OF THE ELECTRODEPOSITION OF NI-ZN (TOP LAYER) ON THE NI (UNDER LAYER) COATING, WITH SUBSEQUENT REPLACEMENT OF THE ZINC BY PALLADIUM AT OPEN CIRCUIT IN A PALLADIUM CONTAINING ALKALINE SOLUTION. THE SURFACE MORPHOLOGIES AND COMPOSITIONS OF COATING BEFORE AND AFTER GALVANIC REPLACEMENT WERE DETERMINED BY ENERGY DISPERSIVE X-RAY AND SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPY (SEM) TECHNIQUES. THE SEM RESULTS SHOWED THAT THE NI/PDNI COATINGS WERE POROUS, AND COMPOSED OF DISCRETE PD NANOPARTICLES WITH THE CRYSTALLITE SIZE OF ABOUT 58 NM. THE ELECTRO-CATALYTIC ACTIVITY OF NI/PDNI ELECTRODES TOWARD ELECTROOXIDATION OF ETHANOL WAS STUDIED BY USING CYCLIC VOLTAMMETRY AND ELECTROCHEMICAL IMPEDANCE SPECTROSCOPY TECHNIQUES. THE RESULTS SHOWED THAT NI/PD-NI CATALYST HAD A HIGHER ELECTRO-CATALYTIC ACTIVITY FOR ETHANOL ELECTROOXIDATION THAN FLAT PD AND SMOOTH NI, RESPECTIVELY, DUE TO THE HIGH SURFACE ARE AND THE SYNERGISTIC EFFECTS OF PD AND NI. THEREFORE, THE NI/PD-NI CATALYSTS CAN BE POTENTIAL ANODE CATALYSTS FOR THE DIRECT ETHANOL FUEL CELL.

نیکل مولیبدات نانوساختار به عنوان یک ماده ی الکتروفعال ابرخازنی با استفاده از فرایندی دومرحله ای شامل رسوب نشانی الکتروشیمیایی جریان ثابت کاتدی و عملیات حرارتی کلسیناسیون بر روی جمع کننده ی جریان فوم نیکل رشد داده شد. ساختار و ریخت شناسی سطحی الکترود تهیه شده با استفاده از پراش پرتو ایکس (XRD)، طیف سنجی مادون قرمز تبدیل فوریه (FTIR)، آزمون جذب و واجذب نیتروژن و میکروسکوپ الکترونی روبشی گسیل میدانی (FESEM) ارزیابی شد. همچنین، عملکرد ابرخازنی الکترود تهیه شده با استفاده از آزمون های ولتامتری چرخه ای (CV)، شارژ – تخلیه جریان ثابت (GCD)، طیف نگاری امپدانس الکتروشیمیایی (EIS) و چرخه پذیری بررسی شد. به طور خلاصه، الکترود نیکل مولیبدات بدون چسب تهیه شده عملکرد الکتروشیمیایی خوبی را نشان داد که شامل ظرفیت ویژه ی بالای F g-1 676 در چگالی جریان A g-1 1، قابلیت جریان دهی بالا (45 درصد ابقای ظرفیت با افزایش 10برابری در جریان تخلیه) و پایداری چرخه ای عالی (1/89 درصد حفظ ظرفیت خازنی پس از 2000 چرخه در A g-1 5) است.

THE VSB-5 NANORODS WERE SYNTHESIZED BY CONVENTIONAL HEATING FOR 72 H IN THE PRESENCE OFTRIETHYLAMINE AS TEMPLATE.THEN, A NOVEL, CHEAP AND EFFICIENT CATALYST FOR ETHANOL ELECTROOXIDATION WAS DEVELOPED BY DECORATING NI2+IONS ON THE SURFACE OF MODIFIED CARBON PASTE ELECTRODE (CPE) WITH VSB-5 MOLECULAR SIEVES. THE ELECTROCHEMICAL ACTIVE SURFACE AREA OF THE MODIFIED ELECTRODE (NI-VSB-5/CPE) WAS CALCULATED BY CYCLIC VOLTAMMETRY (CV). ALSO, THE ELECTROCHEMICAL BEHAVIOR OF THE NI-VSB-5/CPE ELECTRODE TOWARDS THE ETHANOL OXIDATION WAS EVALUATED BY CV AS WELL AS CHRONOAMPEROMETRY METHODS. A SENSITIVE OXIDATION PEAK WAS OBSERVED AT 0.55 V IN 0.1 M NAOH SOLUTION FOR ELECTROCATALYTICOXIDATION OF ETHANOL WITH ECʹ MECHANISM. IT HAS BEEN OBSERVED THAT VSB-5 AT THE SURFACE OF CPE CAN IMPROVE CATALYTIC EFFICIENCY OF THE DISPERSED NICKEL IONS TOWARD OXIDATION OF ETHANOL. THE VALUES OF ELECTRON TRANSFER COEFFICIENT, THE MEAN VALUE OF CATALYTIC RATE CONSTANT AND DIFFUSION COEFFICIENT FOR ETHANOL AND REDOX SITES WERE OBTAINED TO BE 0.657, 1.80×105 CM3 MOL-1 S-1 AND 3.62×10-4 CM2 S-1, RESPECTIVELY.
