Abstract:

MOSTLY SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA (OSCC), A LOCAL DISEASE IN THE ORAL CAVITY THAT MORE THAN 300,000 PEOPLE WORLDWIDE ARE INVOLVED IN THE DISEASE. AMERICA CANCER SOCIETY ESTIMATES THAT OVER 30,000 NEW CASES OF ORAL CANCER WERE DIAGNOSED IN 2006, 3% OF ALL CANCERS IN MEN AND 2% OF FEMALE TUMORS. THESE CANCERS MAY BE LESS COMMON THAN OTHER CANCERS, BUT IT IS VERY HIGH LETHAL EFFECT. RECENTLY THE ROLE OF MICRORNA HAS BEEN EVALUATED IN CANCER. THEIR ROLE AS INTERMEDIARIES IN THE POSTTRANSLATIONAL GENE EXPRESSION OR SUPPRESSION OF TARGET RNA (MRNA) OR BY INHIBITING TRANSLATION OF TARGET GENES HAS BEEN PROPOSED. MIR-133A NO EFFECT ON CELL GROWTH, MIGRATION AND INVASION, WHILE DEPENDING ON THE CELL TYPE EXPRESSION. OVEREXPRESSION OF THE MIR-133A IS A DIAGNOSTIC MARKER FOR CANCER CELLS. MECHANISMS OF THE TARGETS RELATED TO MIR-133A IN GENTRAIL2 WERE EXAMINED AND IT WAS FOUND THAT DRUGS AFFECTING THE STITCH-RELATED DRUGS INHIBIT THE EXPRESSION OF MIR-133A, WHICH IS ONE OF THE DIAGNOSTIC MARKERS OSCC IS CI-1033 DRUG. EGF AND EGFR RECEPTORS IS RELATED TO THE CI-1033. SUGGESTED THAT IN FUTURE STUDIES IDENTIFIED OTHER RECEPTORS AND DRUGS RELATED TO OSCC.

Abstract:

ORAL SQUAMOUS CARCINOMA CANCER (OSCC) IS THE MOST COMMON TYPES OF HEAD AND NECK CANCER (HNSCC). OSCC THE SIXTH SOLID CANCER IN WORLDWIDE. WITH CONVENIENT ACCESS TO EXAMINATION AND BIOPSY OF CANCEROUS TISSUE, CAUSING PEOPLE ARE HIGH MORTALITY IS DIAGNOSED IN ADVANCED STAGES OF OSCC. ACCORDING TO RELIABLE MOLECULAR MARKERS THAT PROVIDE EARLY DETECTION OSCC, PROGNOSIS PREDICTION AND THEY ARE DEDICATED TO TREATING PATIENTS. WITH THIS COMMENTARY, SMALL NON-CODING RNA CAN PLAY A ROLE IN CANCER DETECTION.MIR-21 IN OSCC PROMOTING EFFECTS, MICRORNA ARE ABLE TO REGULATE GENE EXPRESSION DOWN. MIR-21 ON THE DIFFERENTIATION, DIVERSITY, APOPTOSIS AND METASTASIS PLAYS A ROLE. TARGET LINKED TO THE MIR-21 EXTRACTED FROM THE TARGET SCAN DATABASE. AND MECHANISMS RELATED TO TARGETS OF MIR-21 WITH GENETRAIL 2 WERE CHECKED. IN GO-BIOLOGICAL PROCESS DETECTED OF THE SIMILARITY BETWEEN CANCER CELLS AND EMBRYONIC CELLS WERE CLEARLY MARKED. BY FOCUSING IMPACT MIR-21, RECEPTOR PDCD4 ARRIVED IN OSCC‘S INVASION, METASTASIS AND DIFFERENTIATION. AFTER MORE STUDIES CAN BE USED TO IDENTIFY OTHER RECEPTORS TO TREAT AND DIAGNOSE OSCC, TO BE INHIBITED METASTASIS. FINALLY MIR-21 CAN BE USED AS A PREDICTIVE OF POOR PROGNOSIS FOR OSCC SO CAN BE ON THE PATH OF CURE THE DISEASE HAS BEEN FASTER PROGRESS. MIR-21 IS RECOMMENDED FOR OTHER DRUGS THAT COULD INHIBIT, SUCH AS CI-1033 TO EXAMINE FROM DRUG BANK FOR OSCC, IT IS PART OF EFFECTIVE DRUGS AGAINST CANCER.

Background and Aim: The purpose of this study was to determine the frequency of EGFR marker expression in oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) and correlative factors.Materials and Methods: A descriptive study was conducted on 40 paraffin embedded blocks of oral SCC. Immunohistochemical staining (IHC) was done for EGFR and EGFR expression was evaluated on the basis of extent and intensity of EGFR immunolabeling in tumor cell membranes. Classification was done on a four point scale as follows: 0 (no labeling, or labeling in <10% of tumor cells); 1 (weak labeling, homogeneous or patchy, in ≤10% of tumor cells); 2 (moderate labeling, homogeneous or patchy, in> 10% of tumor cells); 3 (intense labeling, homogeneous or patchy in >10% of tumor cells). These categories were subsequently grouped into two wider categories for data analysis: absent/weak labeling (0 or 1) and moderate/intense labeling (2 or 3).The data was analyzed by Fisher exact test. Results: The high expression was shown in 45% of OSCCs. There was significant correlation among gender with EGFR expression (p=0.02).Conclusion: In this study EGFR expression was significantly higher in female than male, that can be impress biological behavior of tumor.

Background & Aim: Squamous cell carcinoma is the most common cancer in oral cavity with aggressive behavior. Many researches are done about pathogenesis and detection methods for this cancer. The purpose this research is the evaluation of the length of telomere in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and its probably diagnostic value.Materials & Methods: We used the sensitive PCR technique based on primer extension method to determine the telomere length. The procedure steps were 1) DNA isolation 2) PCR assay 3) Electrophoresis for assessment of the PCR products 4) AgN03 staining. At last length of the telomere was determined in comparison with 1Kb marker. Results: In 5 cases of OSCC the telomere length was less than 5Kb and in the other 5 samples it was between 5-5.5Kb, but in all normal tissue samples length of the telomere was more than 5.5Kb (9.4-10.6Kb). The findings showed a significant statistical difference between two groups (P<0.01). Also with the more severe dysplastic changes, higher telomere shortening was seen. Conclusion: Telomere length is shortened is shortened in OSCC compare with normal tissue and can be a useful marker for diagnostic aims.

Abstract:

Background: Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is one of the 10 most common malignant tumors. This study aimed to evaluate the relevance of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and cytokeratin 19 (CK19) genes as biomarkers for diagnosis of OSCC. Methods: In this study, 30 patients and 30 healthy individuals were selected. CK19 and VEGF were measured in peripheral blood using real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique. T-test was performed to analyze the data. Findings: In patients with OSCC, CK19 and VEGF markers were positive in 17 and 23 patients out of 30. Conclusion: The expression of VEGF and CK19 is more among the patients with OSCC, compared to healthy people. In summary, the result of this study can be considered as a diagnostic screening test in the early stages of the disease.

Abstract:

Background: There are several types of carcinoma which may cause serious diseases in humans and lead to their death. Neoplasia in squamous cells is a subtype of carcinoma which can cause squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). SCC can occur in several areas in the oral cavity (oral squamous cell carcinoma, OSCC) and cutaneous tissues (cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma, CSCC) such as skin. This study aims to investigate the expression level of cyclin D1 and its relevance to different prognoses of OSCC and CSCC. The present study investigates the expression of cyclin D1 and its relevance to different prognoses of OSCC and CSCC. Indexes such as lesion site, gender, and age have been checked. Methods: In this cross-sectional descriptive-analytical study, 23 cases of OSCC and 23 cases of CSCC were evaluated. The immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining method was employed to study the correlation of cyclin D1 and the above-mentioned SCCs. The data were analyzed using KAI2, Fisher’, s exact test, MannWhitney U test, and dependent t tests in SPSS version 22. 0. Statistical significance was set at P < 0. 05. Results: The results showed that staining status was not significantly correlated with lesion site (P = 0. 999). According to the results, there was no significant relationship between staining pattern and lesion site (P = 0. 749). There was a significant relationship between the severity of staining and lesion site (P = 0. 040). In addition, those with skin lesions showed higher staining intensity. The staining status of gender or age groups was not affected by the adjustment of lesion site. By moderating the effect of lesion site and age group, gender was found to affect staining pattern (P = 0. 036). The odds ratio of having a diffuse pattern was 4. 90 times higher in men than in women. Regardless of the independent variables in the model of people with color intensity 2, their likelihood of going to color 4 was significantly higher (P < 0. 001). People in intensity 0 were significantly less likely to go to 4 (P = 0. 001). People in intensity 1 had no significant relationship with those in intensity 4 (P = 0. 405). Men were less likely to go higher than women. Furthermore, people aged 72 and under were less likely to go higher. Individuals with skin lesions were more likely to go to higher intensity, even though none of the independent variables was significant. Conclusions: The staining intensity was higher in CSCC than in OSCC. A lot of factors are associated with the prognosis of SCCs, and cyclin D1 may be used as a prognostic marker.

Abstract:

Aims: Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is the most frequent malignancy in the oral cavity. Early diagnosis of OSCC could provide on-time treatments and increase survival rate of patients. Recently, the level of salivary biomarkers has been studied as a mean for the early diagnosis of different cancers. This study assessed salivary zinc finger protein 510 in patients with OSCC and healthy individuals as a new biomarker for the diagnosis of OSCC in early stages. Materials & Methods: In this study, 21 OSCC, and 21 healthy individuals were selected in 2019 and their unstimulated saliva were collected by spitting method. Salivary zinc finger protein 510 were determined using the ELISA technique. All calculations were performed using the SPSS software ver 23. The significance level was set at ≤,0. 05 for all tests. Findings: In this study mean of Salivary zinc finger 510 protein of OSCC patients were significantly higher than healthy subjects (p=0/019). But after considering age as a confounder variable, although ZNF510 level was higher in the patient group than the healthy group, the difference was not valuable (p=0. 090). In addition, in the patients with OSCC, the mean of ZNF510 in patients with grade II lesion was significantly higher than those in grade I (P = 0. 001). Conclusion: In this study, after considering the age, although the mean of ZNF510 in the patient with OSCC was higher than the healthy group, but no significant difference was observed. Therefore, although in this study, age had a direct and weak relationship with the mean of ZNF510, but it can be stated that there is an age-related effect on ZNF510 secretion in saliva. Therefore, additional studies with age consideration, and higher sample size are recommended.
