Abstract: 

Introduction: The goal of this study was to determine the psychometric characteristics of the Revised Self-Disgust Scale in Iranians.Method: This study was basic research. The methodology employed was descriptive-correlative. The statistical population consisted of individuals who had been students at universities in Tabriz city from 2018 to 2019. A total of 392 individuals were randomly selected. The scale was translated by two English language experts, who made alterations based on feedback from psychology professors and 30 pilot test participants. The scale was then administered along with Beck’s Depression Scale, Disgust Sensitivity, and the OXFORD Happiness Questionnaire. To assess reliability, the scale was administered again after a 2-week interval. Data analysis was conducted using AMOS and SPSS-22.Results: The scale has good face validity. Factor analysis confirmed two factors: behavioral (personality) and physical self-disgust. The instrument demonstrated significant convergent validity based on its correlation with the Beck Scale and the Disgust Scale (r = 0.32, 0.15, p < 0.01). Additionally, the correlation between the factors was 0.72, and between each factor and the total score was above 0.90. Finally, the results indicated that the internal consistency was 0.83. Test-retest reliability was high (r = 0.87, p < 0.01).Discussion and Conclusion: It is inferred that the SDS-R demonstrates good validity and reliability among the Iranian population, making it suitable for measuring the self-disgust variable.

Abstract: 

In the present study, we investigated total cell protein patterns of ten isolates of Trichophyton rubrum by SDS-PAGE on 12.5% polyacrylamide resolving gels. Twenty-two protein bands were detected with molecular weights in the range of 23.2 to 131.8 KD. Proteins of 23.2, 25.4, 26.7, 28.2, 30.2, 33.1, 34.7, 38,41.7, 47.9, 52.5, 56.2, 61.7, 67.6, 70.8, 75.9, 80, 84.1, 93.3, 102.3, 114.8, 131.8 were present but their frequencies varied among the isolates. Protein bands of 23.2, 38, 47.9, 52.5, 84.1 were common among the isolates and could be specific to recognize species differences. Protein analysis by SDS-PAGE could be considered a useful technique in identifying differences among the dermatophyte isolates

Abstract: 

In this study, intensity of ANS (1-Anilino-8-Naphtalen Sulfunate) fluorescence at 480nm has been taken as a measure of the amount of hCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropinr) in the solution. The rate of subunit dissociation of hCG has been turned out to be as a first order reaction in the range of pH=2 to 10 at different temperature. The dissociation rate constant in acid medium is higher than in other mediums. Gel filtration study has shown that the elution volume of hCG decreases as the pH decreases. Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate (SDS) slows down the subunit dissociation of hCG through the concentration range used. The best inhibitory concentration of SDS is found to be 0.7mM. The activation energies increase, in all pH in the presence of SDS. The maximum value of activation energies are corresponding to the concentration of 0.7mM of SDS. It has been evident that the gel filtration causes, in all pH and the presence of SDS (0.7 mM), the increase of elution volume of hCG. The decrease in the rate of subunit dissociation in addition to the increase in activation energy in the presence of SDS could be accounted for the partial folding of hCG.
