The Big Five Inventory (BFI) is one of the most widely used personality questionnaires, but very few studies have been conducted on its psychometric properties in Iranian population. This study was carried out with the aim of studying the psychometric properties of the BFI questionnaire. For this purpose, 390 university students in Tehran (210 girls and 180 boys) with an age range of 18 to 56 years (M = 27.52; SD = 8.79) were selected using the convenience sampling method and completed BFI and NEO-FFI questionnaires. Cronbach's alpha, multitrait-multimethod matrix, and confirmatory factor analysis were used to estimate the psychometric properties of the questionnaire. The result of the confirmatory factor analysis showed that 15 of the 44 items did not have a strong factor loading (higher than 0.40) on the corresponding factors and were therefore removed from the questionnaire. The fit indices showed that the Persian version of 29 questions (BFI-29) with 5 factors has a good fit with the data. The reliability analysis also showed that the range of Cronbach's alpha coefficients of the factors is from 0.70 to 0.79. The lowest Cronbach's alpha coefficient was related to agreeableness factor and the highest was related to conscientiousness. The findings from the multitrait-multimethod matrix showed that the BFI-29 questionnaire has good convergent and divergent validity with the NEO-FFI questionnaire. In general, based on the results of the present study, it can be said that the BFI-29 questionnaire has desirable psychometric properties and whenever a short tool for personality measurement is needed, this questionnaire can be used.

Background: Helicobacter pylori infection is a major cause of chronic gastritis in hemodialysis patients. There are various methods for diagnosis of infections with this organism. This study compared two methods of histology and serology for diagnosis of Helicobacter pylori in hemodialysis patients.Materials and methods: This study has been done on 75 hemodialysis patients with dyspepsia referred to Imam Hossain Hospital of Shahroud, Iran in 2014. Endoscopy with standard biopsy and serology test were done for all patients. Sensitivity, specificity, and positive and negative predictive value were evaluated for serology test.Results: From 75 patients with dyspepsia, 49 patients (65.3%) had positive serology test, and 64 (85.3%) patients were positive by histologic findings. Sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value were 70.3%, 63.6%, 91.8% and 26.9%, respectively.Conclusion: Due to the relative high sensitivity and specificity of serological tests in comparison with other diagnostic methods, as well as its simplicity, speed and low cost, it is recommended to use this test for screening of hemodialysis patients.

Background and Objectives: Identification of the fall risk factors in older people to prevent of fall and reduce the costs associated with it is necessary. The aim of this study was to translate and determine the validity and reliability of the Persian version of the self-assessment fall risk scale in the elderly. Methods: This methodological study conducted on 60 older people of Qom Retirement Center. The translation was conducted based on the backward/forward method. The content validity, face validity, and construct validity was investigated. To evaluate the construct validity, the known groups comparison, convergent and divergent validity was used. Reliability was measured using the internal consistency. Results: The results of known group's comparison showed that the mean score of the scale in the older people with a history of fall is higher than older people without a history of fall. A significant correlation between scors of the fall risk scale with go & up timed (r= 0.428, P < 0.001), and the 30-second chair stand test (r=-0.333, P <0.01) confirmed the convergent and divergent validity,   respectively. The Kuder-Richardson coefficient (0.624) confirmed the inner consistency of the scale.  Conclusion: The findings indicated that the Iranian version fall risk scale has satisfactory psychometric properties. The scale can considered to measure various fall risk factors and fall prevention interventions in the older people.
