Abstract: 

Shift scheduling is one of the production planning processes that develop organization and WORKFORCEs by providing optimized time table. In this study we tried to present mathematical model with minimization function of human errors regarding human factor engineering. Learning, forgetting, fatigue and rest are important factors which increase or decrease human errors and is modeled here. Provided model is nonlinear integer model. To investigate model and study human factors we solved small instances with different parameters in three categories: easy tasks, medium and hard tasks. To solve model we used LINGO software. Results indicated that shift schedules are different regarding different human parameters. With increasing difficulty of tasks and decreasing learning, rest breaks were closer to start of working shift. With decreasing difficulty of tasks and increasing learning, optimized schedule close to schedule without rest breaks. Also results showed that we can use the model to optimize human reliability, and organizations can define optimized shift schedules with considering task types and human parameters.

Abstract: 

The purpose of preventive maintenance management is to perform a series of tasks that prevents or minimizes production breakdowns and improves the reliability of production facilities. The inspection, repair, and replacement of production equipment are tasks that are central to preventive maintenance management.An important objective of preventive maintenance management is to minimize the downtime of production facilities. In order to accomplish this objective, management personnel has to efficiently allocate resources and determine an effective maintenance schedule. Mathematical models have been developed to solve the preventive maintenance-scheduling problem of assigning skilled personnel to work with tasks that require a set of corresponding skills.However, there are several limitations in the prior work in this area of research. The craft-combination problem has not been solved because the craft-combinations is assumed to be given. The craft-combination problem concerns the computation of all combinations of assigning multi-skilled workers to accomplishing a particular task. In fact, determining craft-combinations is difficult because of the exponential number of craft-combinations that are possible.This research provides an integrated solution for the preventive maintenance-scheduling problem with multi-skilled WORKFORCE constraints.Two novel preventive maintenance-scheduling model is formulated to automatically produce the optimal solution and craft combination.

Abstract: 

The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between stress management and WORKFORCE productivity of Amol Industrial Park located in Mazandaran Province. The total population size in the research was 250 from top managers, middle managers and supervisors responsible in the before-mentioned Industrial Park and the sample size was determined through Morgan sample population volume table (n=150). For data collection, Background Information questionnaire, Stress Management and WORKFORCE Productivity questionnaires were used. As for analyzing the data gained after collecting the questionnaires; Descriptive and inferential statistics were used. Pearson Correlation Test, One Sample T Test, Independent Samples Test and Regression Tests were used for hypothesis testing.The results from analyzing the Sub Hypotheses of the research demonstrated that there was a positive and significant correlation between respectful and responsible managers (P=0.005), Managing and communicating existing and future work (P=0.002), Managing the individual within the team (P=0.01), Reasoning/managing difficult situations, (P=0.004) and WORKFORCE productivity in this research. As for analyzing the Main Hypotheses of the research, the results demonstrated that there was a positive and significant correlation between stress management and WORKFORCE productivity in this research. The results also demonstrated that there was no significant difference between the opinions of male and female managers about the level of WORKFORCE productivity and stress management being put in practice in the before-mentioned Industrial Park. And finally the results indicate that the level of WORKFORCE productivity and stress management being put in practice in the before mentioned Industrial Park is not under the influence of any of Individual characteristics of managers (e.g. Age, Education Level, Job Title, Employment Background and Employment Status).

Abstract: 

WORKFORCE diversity is a new asset for organizations which has been resulted from the increasing globalization. WORKFORCE diversity presents different mental models to organizations; if managed well will produce new ideas, knowledge creation and innovation. This article reports the findings of a research project which examines how WORKFORCE diversity’s management relates to the knowledge creation process in higher education system. Data were collected from a questionnaire. Using stratified random sampling, 132 faculties were selected and asked to answer the questions. The findings indicate that WORKFORCE diversity has a positive impact on knowledge creation in higher education system. Additionally, knowledge creation can be enhanced by an effective management in these institutions.
