Abstract:

Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) technique was employed to study thermal behavior of polyester and epoxy/polyester powder lacquers cured under different curing schedules. The flow properties of the powders were determined using inclined plate flow test. Corrosion performance of the powder lacquers on the degreased mild steel substrate was also investigated. In addition, mechanical properties of samples, including adhesion strength and hardness, cured at various temperatures were evaluated. DSC curves reveal that heating schedules do not significantly affect the thermal behavior of the powders, as well as the corrosion performance and mechanical properties of the samples. Inclined plate flow tests revealed that the higher curing temperatures may improve leveling property of the molten powder and surface appearance of the cured samples.

Abstract:

IN THE FIELD, POLYMERIC NANOPARTICLES HAVE BEEN EXTENSIVELY STUDIED AS PARTICULATE CARRIERS IN THE PHARMACEUTICAL AND MEDICAL FIELD. IN THIS INVESTIGATION, THE LIPID-CORE NANOCAPSULES WERE PREPARED BY INTERFACIAL DEPOSITION OF PREFORMED POLYMER. PCL, SUNFLOWER SEED OIL, PVA (POLYVINYL ALCOHOL), AND CORTISONE WERE DISSOLVED AT AMBIENT TEMPERATURE IN SUITABLE SOLVENT. THE ADVANTAGE OF THESE polyesterS IS THEIR BIOCOMPATIBILITY AND HIGHER HYDROLYSIS ABILITY INTO HUMAN BODY. MAJOR ACTIVITY IN THIS AREA HAS CENTERED ON ALIPHATIC polyesterS, PRINCIPALLY DUE TO THE FAVORAB TOXICOLOGY OF THEIR DEGRADATION PRODUCT BY UV, FT-IR AND SEM TECHNIQUES AND THEIR SUPERNATANT WERE USED FOR THE SPECTROSCOPIC SCAN ANALYSIS FROM 190 TO 800 NM. SEM CHARACTERISATION OF CORTISONE LOADED PCL NANOPARTICLES (FIG. A) AND PCL NANOPARTICLES (FIG. B). THE PARTICLE SIZE AND POLY DISPERSITY INDICES WERE MEASURED BY PHOTON CORRELATION SPECTROSCOPY. CORTISONE LOADED PCL NANOPARTICLES HAVE -24.5 MV ZETA POTENTIAL.CRITERIA FOR SELECTING A METHOD FOR PREPARATION OF NANOCAPSULES ACCORDING TO ITS ADVANTAGES, LIMITATIONS ANDBEHAVIOURS AS A DRUG CARRIER. Abstract:

Unsaturated polyester resins (UPRs) including ortho, iso, bisphenolic and vinylester are the most widely used thermosetting polymeric resins in the form of coating and matrix in the industry, making up around three quarters of all thermoset resins used in the industry. The major advantages of UPRs include low cost, low viscosity, good mechanical properties and chemical resistance, lightness, low moisture absorption, curing without the formation of volatiles, and simple processing with conventional processing methods. UPRs have been used  in a wide variety of applications including composites, coatings, sealants, chemical and fuel storage tanks, and high-performance components for the construction, marine and land transportation, and electrical industries. However their high shrinkage after curing, low fire resistance and  environmental pollution due to volatile styrene have limited their use. In the past decades, the use of nanofillers in polymers to form polymer nanocomposites has attracted attention due to the ability to combine the advantages of nanofillers and polymers. In addition, the development of nanocomposites of UPRs has made these resins desirable for current and emerging applications that require high specific strength, electromagnetic shielding and improved thermal stability. However, due to the high tendency of nanoparticles to agglomerate, the main challenge in the preparation of nanocomposites is to achieve a homogeneous distribution of nanofillers in the matrix, which is the main key to achieving the desired properties. Therefore, the aim of this study is to evaluate extensive research in this field and to recognize the existing limitations related to the manufacture of these nanocomposites. For this purpose, firstly, the types of nanofillers are categorized and the mixing of nanofillers with UPRs is introduced. Then, the effect of adding nanofillers on the properties of these nanocomposites is reviewed according to the research works done in this field.

Abstract:

polyester (PET) is one of the hydrophobic fibers. Disperse dyes are the most important dyestuff for dyeing of this fibers. Dyeing can be applied by carrier, HT and the thermofix methods. In this research, hydrolyzed polyester fibers by lipase in different conditions are dyed by disperse and ionic dyes in using various methods. The results of dyeing by disperse dyes show that the enzymatic hydrolysis increases the surface rate of dyeing but being non-effective on final adsorption of dyes. On the contrary dyeing with ionic dyes indicated that no adsorption of these dyes (acid and cationic dyes) takes place on hydrolyzed fibers.
