Abstract

 As on of the forage sources and important for ley farming are annual medics; Therefore Research Institute of Forests and Rangelands has been Collected and determined its Iranian species. This technical report operations of collection, determination, research and executed projects on annual medics in Lorestan province. Totally, 8 species of annual medics collected and determined in Lorestan province that includes, Medicago constricta, Medicago coronata, Medicago minima, Medicago rigidula, Medicago noaea, Medicago orbicularis, Medicago radiata, Medicago polymorpha.Study on quantity comparison between annual medics forage production of 5 species, Medicago rigidula, Medicago orbicularis, Medicago polymorpha, Medicago truncatula and Medicago scutellata, in rainfed areas of Lorestan, indicated that the last one produce highest fodder than the others.Meanwhile use of electrical mill for seed podding of species Medicago scutellata and Medicago orbicularis has more efficiency than hand-made method.
