Abstract

In the present study, effect of acute concentrations of mutagenic Butachlor herbicide (0. 0, 0. 4, 0. 5 and 1 mg/l) which are named as groups A, B, C and D with durations of exposure of 48, 72 and 96 hours is investigated on some Blood parameters (RBC, Hct, WBC, Hb, MCH, MCHC, PCV, MCV, TP, ALP, AST and ALT) in Rainbow trout. Based on two-way ANOVA statistical analysis, concentration, duration of exposure and the interaction of these two variables had significant effects (P<0. 5) in groups C and D while there was not any significant (P<0. 05) difference between group B with the control group (A). In general, all Blood parameters reduced with increase in Butachlor concentration and duration of exposure from C72 to D96 while this was completely vice versa for AST, ALP, ALT and TP that shows acute concentrations of Butachlor can be the cause of Anemia and liver damage in Rainbow trout in higher concentrations that was reported in previous investigations.
