LOW FLOW FREQUENCY ANALYSIS WITH DIFFERENT DURATION IN ARID AND SEMIARID AREAS(CASE STUDY: LORESTAN PROVINCE WATERSHEDS)

Abstract

 The analysis of frequency curves of LOW FLOWs is a method for estimation of droughts hydrologic and this method is one of the most important methods for estimation of LOW FLOW in regions without sufficient data. In this research we had selected suitable hydrometric stations for analysis of LOW FLOWs and then we had calculated series of annual minimum flows for periods of 10 and 30 days and by use of frequency analysis and comparison of different distributions, we realized that log Pearson type ш is the best distribution. Then we had determined physiographic, ecological and other required parameters for selected areas and by use of analysis factor’s method, we realized the most important factors that affects LOW FLOWs; survey area, annual average precipitation, drainage density and percent of land that have poor vegetation. To determine congenial regions, we used cluster analysis and then by use of REGIONAL ANALYSIS Homogenous regions and all regions and by use of multivariable regression models, we estimated LOW FLOWs with different return period in the Homogenous regions. Investigation of the models showed the models for Homogenous regions had more determination coefficient and less standard error than the models for the total region of study.
