THE MANIFESTATIONS OF GOOD ISSUES IN THE MYTHICAL NATURE OF THE PAINTINGS OF TAHMASEBI SHAHNAMEH

Abstract

 As the art of each nation having roots in people’s beliefs, faith and MYTH, then to decode and evaluate their art you need to know about their MYTHs.In this essay we try to consider the good NATURE's manifestations in Persian MYTHs and their expression in illustration. Duality in acceptance of two source; evil and good, is one of the fundamental features of the Zoroastrianism religion. This contrast in Iranian thoughts has rooted in the NATURE. In Ancient Iran, they thought the wrath of the NATURE brings hunger and drought and the affection of it, prosperity and welfare.Powers of the NATURE divided in two categories; power of the prosperity and power of the drought. They believe that the world had been created based on the contrast and interaction of these two powers which also leads to movement and evolution of the world until this contrast exists. The duality transferred from beliefs and MYTHs to the art. Iranian PAINTINGs always are one of the outstanding visual arts and TAHMASEBI SHAHNAMEH as the essence of this art. For this purpose we consider eleven PAINTINGs of this collection and consider manifestation of good sources on them. Studying on these PAINTINGs will help us to decode the beliefs of a nation which reaches to duality.
