Abstract

In this research, the effect of pressing conditions on the green and environmentally friendly PARTICLEBOARD made from NATURAL ADHESIVE of mimosa condensed tannin was studied. Pressing temperature was fixed at 200 °C. Press time in four levels of 3, 4, 5, and 7 minutes and PRESS PRESSURE in three levels of 15, 18 and 22 kg/cm2 were considered as the variable factors. The results showed that the best treatment in the terms of internal bond strength and thickness swelling are pressing conditions with temperature of 200 °C, pressure of 18 kg/cm2, and time of 5 minutes. In such conditions, the internal bond of 0.59 MPa was obtained, and the percentage of thickness swelling (2 and 24 hours) decreased compared to the other treatments. It was found that water absorption continued to decrease with increasing PRESS PRESSURE up to the level of 22 kg/cm2.
