Abstract

In order to optimum utilization of the production forage of the SUMMER RANGES, a comparison between harvested forage revenue was carried out by mowing at the end of vegetative stage and two mowing at the middle and the end of the vegetative stages in the ranges which had the grasscover (graminae, medicago onobrychis) with more than 95% crown cover of the Alme heights in the GOLESTAN National Park. The study area has the relatively deep soil with relatively proper organic materials and this area is located on the gentle slope 0-10%. From view of the climatic, this area is the border between the Iranian - Turani arid lands and Khazari humid regions. In this investigation, three replications have been considered and 10 pairs observations (plots 1 m2) were taken in to consideration in each replication. The places of the observation were determined by random - systematic method, then in each determined plots, the forage plants were harvested on the basis of vegetative from separation (lifeform) and were dried in the open space. After drying, the samples were weighed and the harvestable forage was calculated with regard to the proper use factor. The information obtained were analysed in the complete block design results obtained based on Anova table, showed that there was no significant difference between harvesting the forage at 1 and 2 mowing.
