Abstract

The Golabar dam reservoir has been established in order to agriculture activity with geographic position 48o 19' E and 36o 19' N in ZANJAN PROVINCE that can be used for aquaculture purposes. This study was conducted on benthic invertebrate within every 50 days periods during 2009-2010. The samples were taken in 4 stations by van veen grab 20×20 cm and 3 replicates. The results showed the dominance of Chironomidae and Tubificidae families so far the most frequencies were 910 and 770 ind./m2 for them respectively. The average biomass of benthos was 1.44±0.97 g/m2. The fisheries potential production was estimated 2.9 kg/ha for benthovorous fishes. The P/B coefficient value was estimated about 21.5 according to regional climatology that consequently able to provide about 15.5 kg/ha fish production. In conclusion, according to environmental parameters and hydrological regimes also the hydro-chemical characteristics, the aquaculture activity may be planed specially for a short time, limited for maximum of 4 months.
