Abstract

The main goal of this study is to measure the TOTAL FACTOR PRODUCTIVITY (TFP) and evaluate the factors affecting it in Gilan Province aquaculture farms. The required data were collected through questionnaires from 236 samples in both warm and COLD WATER FARMs. Results show that there is a significant difference between cold water and WARM WATER FARMs productivity. Technology gap has a negative effect but factors such as productions value to food cost, pool useful area, survive percent, sale index, number of larva per m2, initial and marginal biomas per m2 have a positive effect on TFP in both farms. Also findings show that effect of higher level of educational in WARM WATER FARMs productivity is non-significant while in COLD WATER FARMs productivity it has a positive effect.
