Abstract

Introduction In the past, the architecture of the cities of the northwestern regions of Iran was a reflection of the green architecture and compatible with the path of the Silk Road; over time, the density of cities increased. With the advent of industries and technology, the use of fossil fuels has increased and contributed to air pollution and Climate change in the region has created unsustainable environmental conditions. The main purpose of this research was to develope urban planning according to the Islamic-Iranian culture and the proper utilization of Climate conditions based on the needs of Climate change in confronting the challenges posed by it in the architecture and urbanization of the tourist areas. The cuurent stdy was conducted with descriptive and analytic method based on rational reasoning. Using the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) technique, the components and findings, as well as their prioritization, were examined. Conclusion The availability of suitable sources of sustainable Energy and smart townships with inactive design on the Silk Road route can be economical and bring sustainable Tourism development. The physical structure has reflected buildings and all elements of urban architecture without threatening and resolving the needs of environmental conditions relative to climatic features. Continuous reduce of Energy consumption reduces environmental damages. The availability of sustainable Energy sources (sun, wind, water, etc. ) will resolve the future needs of Tourism site.
