Abstract

The main purpose of this study was to determine the Technical Experts' perception toward utilizing INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT). The population of study consisted of 104 Technical Experts employed in Mahabad Jahad Keshavarzi. Through a complete randomized sampling technique, 60 members of the population were chosen as a sample of the study. This was a descriptive-correlation survey research. A questionnaire was I designed to gather data needed for the study. Content validity of the study was achieved by a panel of experts in the field of agricultural and extension education. A pilot study was conducted to determine the reliability of the questionnaire. A Cronbach Alpha Coefficient of 0.81 was achieved for the questionnaire. The findings indicated that only 20% of respondents have the PROFESSIONAL INFORMATION in the "excellent" range. Fifty eight percent of respondents assess the importantance of INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY at its highest level. About 16.7% of the respondents benefit from a good skill in INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY. There was a negative statistically significant relationship between the age, experience of respondent and using INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY. A multivariate linear regression indicated that among independent variables, age, work experience and experience in internet use altogether account for 43% of variance in respondents' perception of IT.
