Abstract

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY is nowadays fast spreading throughout all aspects of our life. The purpose of this study is to investigate VIEWPOINTs of FACULTY MEMBERs of the University College of Agriculture & Natural Resources Regarding BARRIERS against using INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY. The research method used was a descriptive and correlational design with data collected through questionnaire. The study sample consisted of 70 FACULTY MEMBERs of the University College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Tehran. Reliability and validity of the instrument were affirmed through opinions of FACULTY MEMBERs along with an application of Cronbach's Alpha. The means comparison test revealed that there was no difference in IT usage among FACULTY MEMBERs in various educational departments. In addition, the findings revealed that from FACULTY MEMBERs' VIEWPOINT, lack of knowledge and/or skill for computer use, lack of personal computers and an unadequate mastering of English language were the main BARRIERS against adequate application of INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY.
