Abstract:

Nowadays, unique identifiers are used to authenticate individuals. These identifiers are called biometrics with iris being one of the most popular ones. Research performed in this paper consist of designing a new identification system based on improved security in iris Database. In this paper, we propose an iris template protection method based on Visual Cryptography (VC) and RSA. For iris template protection, the binary iris template is divided into two shares using VC, where one share is stored in the Database and the other is kept with the user on a smart card. In order to provide additional security, the share that is stored in the Database is encrypted with RSA encryption. In the next step the patterns obtained from each image are compared with the patterns in the Database and, by defining a threshold, the identification procedure is carried out. In this paper, the CASIA-v1 image bank has been used. The EER value after encryption is approximately 0. 01. We then expose the system to different noises such as salt and pepper, white Gaussian noise and mean filt. r. After applying the noises, we haveit is observed that the system has shows been better performance compared to the than other systems which we have investigated.

Abstract:

Database outsourcing is an idea to eliminate the burden of Database management from organizations. Since data is a critical asset of organizations, preserving its privacy from outside adversary and untrusted server should be warranted. In this paper, we present a distributed scheme based on storing shares of data on different servers and separating indexes from data on a distinct server. Shamir's secret sharing scheme is used for distributing data to data share servers. A B+-tree index on the order preserved encrypted values for each searchable attribute is stored in the index server. To process a query, the client receives responses including record numbers from the index server and asks these records from data share servers. The final result is computed by the client using data shares. While the proposed approach is secure against different Database attacks, it supports exact match, range, aggregation, and pattern matching queries efficiently. Simulation results show the prominence of our approach in comparison with the bucketing scheme as it imposes lower computation and communication costs on the client.

Abstract:

Introduction: The Iranian Brain Imaging Database (IBID) was initiated in 2017, with 5 major goals: provide researchers easy access to a neuroimaging Database, provide normative quantitative measures of the brain for clinical research purposes, study the aging profile of the brain, examine the association of brain structure and function, and join the ENIGMA consortium. Many prestigious Databases with similar goals are available. However, they were not done on an Iranian population, and the battery of their tests (e. g. cognitive tests) is selected based on their specific questions and needs. Methods: The IBID will include 300 participants (50% female) in the age range of 20 to 70 years old, with an equal number of participants (#60) in each age decade. It comprises a battery of cognitive, lifestyle, medical, and mental health tests, in addition to several Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) protocols. Each participant completes the assessments on two referral days. Results: The study currently has a cross-sectional design, but longitudinal assessments are considered for the future phases of the study. Here, details of the methodology and the initial results of assessing the first 152 participants of the study are provided. Conclusion: IBID is established to enable research into human brain function, to aid clinicians in disease diagnosis research, and also to unite the Iranian researchers with interests in the brain.

Abstract:

In Data Outsourcing, the owner surrenders his data management operations to an external provider which receives user queries and answers them. Besides, data may be of great importance to owners while the external provider may not be trustworthy. Thus, providing data privacy and integrity of user queries have to be considered. Here data privacy means that owner's data must not be revealed to service provider; and query integrity means that the result set returned to users must be sound, complete, and up-to-date. Different methods are proposed to handle mentioned goals with their own advantages and disadvantage, namely encryption usage, private information retrieval (PIR) and data distribution. In this article, we have proposed an approach to gain mentioned goals. Our approach provides better performance and it also provides data privacy and integrity of queries.
