Among elements of literature, i.e. fantasy, style, sense and emotion, emotion element is taken by many researchers and literary scholars as the most influential one in the perdurability of a literary work, in such a way that if a work lacks this element, it cannot be considered as a genuine literary work. Zahra Hoseini in the novel Da and GhassanKanafani in his Story Collections are to familiarize readers with life conditions during the war in general and various emotions they have personally experienced in particular. The success of these two works in attracting a large number of readers as well as their content and thematic similarity to each other caused the researchers to analyze and compare them in terms of the literary element of emotion and show the degree of success of each of them for the readers.In the present article, all types of emotions of desire, anger, fear and joy are investigated and compared in terms of their quality, quantity, and their usein Da and Kanafani’s stories. Vitalization, stimulation of readers’ emotions, stability of emotion, plurality of viewpoints in analyzing emotions, eloquenceand poetic and delicate feeling stimulation are elements of successfulness through which we canindicate the labyrinthine layers of emotion in the two literary works.
