Abstract: 

Tulipa L. genus from Liliaceae family has about 100 species, from which 19 reported from Iran. In this work, anatomy of the bulbs of fourteen Tulipa species belonging to the two subgenera: Eriostemones (T. biebersteiniana, T. biflora, T. turcomanica, T. humilis) and Tulipa (T. clusiana, T. montana var. montana, T. montana var. chrysantha, T. systole, T. hoogiana, T. kuschkensis, T. micheliana, T. ulophylla, T. schrenkii, T. lehmanniana) were studied. Species from subgenus Eriostemones were distinct from each other based on the shape and distribution of their bulbs hairs. Species from Tulipa also were different in the position and density of the bulb hairs. There were not clear differences in the epidermal cells of the bulbs of the species. However, there was a distinct difference between the epidermal cells of two varieties of T. montana. The results of this study indicated that the anatomical features of the Tulipa bulbs in the two subgenera could not be used as a diagnostic character, but can be of value at sectional and species levels. It seemed that the presence and the density of the hairs in the bulbs of Tulipa was correlated to the ecological conditions of their habitats.

Abstract: 

The population structure of Rutilus frisii kutum in southern coasts of Caspian Sea was investigated using microsatellite loci. 50 Kutum fish samples were collected from Gorganroud (Golestan province) and Cheshmekile (Mazandaran province) rivers in April 2006. All the 10 loci investigated in this study (Ca1, Ca3, CypG3, CypG24, CypG27, CypG30, Lid1, Rru2, Rru4, Z21908) were polymorphic. The mean number of alleles at the population level was 7.95 which is lower than the reported values for anadromous fishes. Both populations showed signs of bottleneck. The mean value of observed heterozygosity was 0.80 for Gorganroud and 0.74 for Cheshmekile, respectively. Among the 20 tests of population-loci, 11 samples showed significant deviation from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. Results from Fst (0.008) and Rst (0.04) values showed low genetic differentiation among the populations, also, AMOVA analysis indicated only 4% genetic diversity between populations. The values of genetic distance was 0.03 among the regions. It seems that mismanagement of kutum’restocking programs has had negative effects on the genetic structure of this species.

Abstract: 

In this research, anatomical characteristics of peduncle and of epidermis in eight populations of Trigonella disperma in Iran were studied. Various anatomical characters were compared such as number of collenchyma, parenchyma, sclerenchyma fiber layers, and number of vascular bundles, density and size of stomata in adaxial and abaxial surfaces of leaflet, stomata type and epidermal cell shape. A variety of noticeable anatomical features were seen in the studied populations. Obtained results were analyzed by means of MVSP ver3.1 which attest intraspecific variations.

Abstract: 

The genus Pulicaria Gaertn belongs to the tribe Inuleae (Asteraceae). This genus includes five species in Iran (P. dysenterica, P. vulgaris, P. Arabica, P. gnaphalodes and P. salvifolia). The most diagnostic morphological characteristics were kind of pappus, achene, corolla, phyllaries and form of leafs. In the recent study by Anderberg, focusing on the close relationship between the genus Pulicaria and platychaete, they have been announced synonymous. Platychaete includes five species in Iran (P. glucescens, P. carnosa, P. velutina, P. mucronifolia and P. aucheri). In this study the relationships between them were confirmed and therefore, the Anderberg’s view of convergence of the two genera was attested. Also, species identification key, phenogram and distribution map in Iran were provided and discussed.

Abstract: 

جنس لاله، از خانواده Liliaceae، در حدود 100 گونه دارد که 19 گونه آن از ایران گزارش شده است. در این پژوهش، آناتومی پیاز 14 گونه جنس لاله متعلق به دو زیر جنس (T. biebirstiianina, T. biflora, | Eriostemones Boiss. | T. turcomanica, T. humilis) و زیر جنس (T. clusiana, T. montana var. montana, T. montana var | Tulipa, T. systole, T.var chrysanta, T. kuschkensis, micheliana, T. ulophylla, T. lehmanniana | T. schrenkii T. hoogiana) مطالعه گردید. گونه های متعلق به زیر جنس Eriostemones، در شکل و تراکم کرک های پیازی متمایز از هم بودند. همچنین، گونه های متعلق به زیر جنس Tulipa، در موقعیت و تراکم کرک های پیازی تفاوت نشان دادند. تفاوت زیادی در یاخته های اپیدرم گونه ها مشاهده نشد، اما تفاوت در یاخته های اپیدرم پیاز دو واریتهT. montana مشاهده شد. با توجه به نتایج حاصل از این بررسی، نوع کرک و تراکم آن در دو زیر جنس متفاوت نیست و بر اساس این صفت نمی توان گونه ها را در دو گروه طبقه بندی نمود، لیکن شباهت هایی از نظر نوع کرک و تراکم آن در گونه های متعلق به یک بخش به چشم می خورد و می توان از این صفت برای تفکیک بعضی از گونه ها استفاده نمود. بر اساس شواهد موجود، احتمالا نوع کرک و تراکم آن ارتباط نزدیکی با شرایط اکولوژیک (آب و هوایی) منطقه پراکنش گونه ها دارد و گونه های مناطق سردسیر کرک های متراکم تری در پیاز خود دارند.

Abstract: 

Three new records of the genus Cousinia Cass. including C. hohenackeri, C. chlorocephala and C. lomakini were reported for the first time from Iran. These species have been reported from Iran, Armenia, Transcaucasus and Talesh. According to Flora of U.S.S.R., C. chlorocephala is reported from north part of Iran, however, to this date no specimen of the species has been collected form mentioned area. These species were recognized from their close species via some characters such as flower number, discolor leaves, complete to more or less deccurent leaves and shape of bracts. Photographs and distribution map of the species is presented as well.

Abstract: 

Persicaria hydropiperoides (Michx.) Small as a perennial species of Polygonaceae family is recorded for the first time from northern regions of Iran. To distinguish this species among other species of this genus, micro morphology of tepal epidermis, leaf epidermis and leaf cross section have been compared with two close species, P.hydropiper L. and P.maculosa Gray. Anatomical structure of leaf blade and micro-morphological studies of leaf and tepal epidermis attest the differences of this taxon from other morphologically related species.

Abstract: 

Floristic studies of a region have many advantages, since the floristic list is a useful identity document which provides the genetic potentials of the area. The area of Hanna no-hunting zone is 20452 ha and is located at the southern part of Isfahan province. In this study the floristic list of the region is presented and their life forms and endangered species are stated. Field data collections were conducted during the years 2007 through 2008. First the studied area boundaries were exposed on a topographic map with a scale of 1:25000. Then, the plant species of the region were collected and identified according to the floras. According to the presented list, there were 307 species belonging to 209 genuses which are classified in 51 families. The Asteraceae has the highest species diversity in the region with 33 genus and 52 species. According to Raunkiaer’s life form criteria, the identified species are categorized as: hemicryptophytes 50.5%, therophytes 23.1%, chamephytes 11.4%, phanerophytes (6.8%) and geophytes (8.1%). The high percent occurrence of the perennial species confirms the plant species adaptations to the climatic and edaphic conditions of the region. In the Hanna region, 76 medicinal and industrial species were listed belonging to 67 genera and 29 families. The Asteraceae and Lamiaceae families had 12 and 13 species of the medicinal plant species accordingly and they had the most species diversities in this category among the other families. There were 9 vulnerable species, 28 lower risk and 4 data deficient species in the studied region.
