Introduction: The direct approach of cardiac tissue engineering is to mimic the natural tissue of heart, considering the significant role of scaffolding and mechanical simulation. Methods: To achieve this purpose, a composite Polycaprolactone (PCL)/Gelatin electrospun scaffold with a ratio of 70: 30 and with the most similarities to the cardiac extracellular matrix was fabricated with aligned nanofibers. The scaffold was evaluated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), mechanical strength analysis, and contact angle test. To simulate the cardiac contraction, a developed Mechanical Loading Device (Bioreactor) was designed to apply a mechanical load with a specific frequency and tensile rate values in the direction of aligned nanofibers due to simulating natural cardiac tissue. Results: Based on our results from the contact angle and mechanical strength tests, we concluded that our designed scaffold has appropriate adhesion and strength to use as cardiac scaffold and is suitable for imposing the frequency of 1Hz and 10% strain. The Bioreactor also worked properly in producing the required frequency, tensile rate and temperature. Conclusion: Since an essential difference between cardiomyocytes and other cells is their contraction, manufacturing a biomimetic bioreactor to simulate the normal cardiac contraction of cardiomyocytes and their required temperature to be survived in-vitro could be a promising approach in cardiac tissue engineering.

Abstract:

Introduction: Quantitative research is not suitable for COVID pandemic research because it does not cover the social consequences of qualitative research. COVID 19 is a social event that is important because of the disruption of the natural order of society. To defeat the disease, social interaction is needed, so qualitative research is appropriate to find the challenges and experiences of society. Therefore, due to the inconsistency of people's health behaviors with epidemiological models, people's vulnerability in epidemics, unexpected consequences or surprising results, extracting participants' experiences from medical procedures and revealing flexibility in the face of social problems, the use of qualitative research in this pandemic that will be important.

Abstract:

Introduction: Hereditary nonpolyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC, Lynch syndrome) is an autosomal dominant genetic disease. The disease is caused by a mutation in one of four genes of the DNA mismatch repair system and increases the risk for various cancers, especially the uterine and colon cancers. The prevalence of this disease in the general population is about 1 in 500 and it causes about 2-3% of colorectal cancers. Lynch syndrome is diagnosed in two stages: 1) the person is suspected of having the disease (because a patient is unusually diagnosed with cancer at a young age), and 2) evidence of incomplete repair defect is seen in the tumor tissue (microsatellite instability). The detection of a pathogenic mutation confirms the diagnosis in these patients and enables predictive testing for other family members. Diagnostic evaluation of Lynch syndrome should be performed with appropriate genetic counseling. Systemic colonoscopy surveillance could identify colon cancers at an earlier stage before patients present clinical symptoms. Conclusion: Although many studies have been done, but the benefits of an individualized, risk-adapted surveillance strategy are still unclear. Until this is identified, Lynch syndrome patients and healthy carriers with causative mutations should be monitored by annual colonoscopy and annual gynecological examination (for women).

Abstract:

Introduction: Relaxation is a set of neuromuscular exercises that helps the mothers to go through pregnancy and different stages of labor with minimal complications. Various studies have been performed on the effect of different relaxation methods on problems and disorders in pregnancy and childbirth. The aim of this study was to systematically review the studies on the effects of various methods of relaxation in pregnancy and childbirth in Iran and the world. The IRCT Clinical Trial Registration Center and Keywords for Relaxation, Pregnancy, Childbirth, and Maternity were searched from 2000 to 2020. Finally, 40 trials including 21 Persian articles and 19 Latin articles that met the inclusion criteria were reviewed. There were 21 studies on relaxation during pregnancy and 19 studies on labor and postpartum. Studies have shown that the number of studies performed in the field of passive rest (in pregnancy-childbirth) was limited, but in the field of active rest and the simultaneous use of several types of rest (in pregnancy-childbirth) was numerous. Conclusion: The results showed that the use of progressive active muscle relaxation alone, due to its ease and comprehensibility can be used as a practical method in reducing problems and disorders during pregnancy and childbirth. therefore, the simultaneous use of several types of relaxation (active-inactive) due to the increase of positive effects of relaxation can be used in the next step.

Introduction: The present study was conducted with the aim of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) on treatment adherence in people with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental design with an experimental group and a control group with pre-test, post-test and two-month follow-up. This study was conducted in 2019 in Tehran in the statistical population of people with NAFLD diagnosis. In this study, 30 individuals with NAFLD were purposefully selected and they were randomly assigned to two groups and received a pre-test. Then, the experimental group underwent group intervention of acceptance and commitment therapy during two months of ten sessions while the control group had received the typical routine interventions from medical centers. The Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (Moriski et al., 2008) was conducted in the all of three stages of measurement. In order to analyze the data, repeated measures analysis of variance test with SPSS-16 software was used. Results: The trend of changes in the intervention group compared to the control group in the measurement stages in the treatment adherence to the treatment (F= 4. 243, P=0. 03) was significantly different (P <0. 05) and about 15% of the differences observed in this variable is due to group membership (intervention). To compare these changes over time, Benfron's subtest was used. The difference between pre-test with post-test and follow-up were only significant in the intervention group (P <0. 05). Conclusion: Acceptance and commitment-based therapy increases treatment adherence. Therefore, it is suggested that this method be used to increase treatment adherence in people with non-alcoholic fatty liver.

Introduction: The spread of drug-resistant pathogenic strains and the increase of free radicals in food sources are major health problems worldwide. The side effects of chemical drugs have led the researchers to use natural products. In this study, the antimicrobial and antioxidant effects of leaf extract of Lythrum Salicaria have been investigated. Methods: This research was a basic experimental study. The aqueous extract of Lythrum Salicaria leaf was prepared by maceration method. Antimicrobial effects of the extract were evaluated by disk diffusion method. The antioxidant properties of extract were determined by DPPH and iron reducing power methods. In addition, the amounts of phenol, flavonoid and flavonol were assayed by Folin-ciocalteu and Aluminum chloride methods, respectively. Data were compared by analysis of variance (ANOVA) using SPSS version 16 software. Results: All of the studied strains were sensitive to the aqueous extract of Lythrum Salicaria leaf except E. coli. The mean zones of inhibition were due to the extracts on the tested bacteria obtained in ranging from 12. 67 to 24. 67 mm. Statistical analysis showed a significant relationship between the mean diameters of growth inhibition zone and increased extract concentrations (P < 0. 001). The total phenolic content, total flavonoid content and total flavonol content values of extract were determined as 36. 53 ± 1. 27 mg gallic acid per gram extract, 5. 2 ± 0. 4 mg quercetin per gram extract and 20. 8 ± 0. 95 quercetin per gram extract, respectively. Conclusion: Extract of Lythrum Salicaria can be a good alternative to common antibiotics resistant. The acceptable antioxidant effects of the Lythrum Salicaria extract can be introduced it as an inhibitor of diabetes and cancer.

Abstract:

Introduction: Due to the side effects of overuse of antibiotics, the aim of study was to evaluate the optimal antibiotic use in children with gastroenteritis. Methods: This descriptive-analytical study was conducted on 178 children with gastroenteritis from January to December 2018. Data including age, gender, clinical symptoms and laboratory findings were extracted from records. Results: Out of 178 cases of diarrhea, 32 cases were due to bacteria and 146 cases were due to viruses. The most clinical symptoms in the patients were fever (34. 40 %), vomiting (33. 2 %) and coryza (13. 1%). The most frequency of viral (46. 2%) and bacterial diarrhea (32. 2%) were seen in autumn season. Antibiotics were used mostly in spring (39 %) and autumn (25 %) seasons. In 14% of cases, the appropriate treatment was not selected. In addition, 50. 56 % of treated children were less than 1 years old. No significant relation was also seen between season with bacterial or viral cases (p>0. 05). Significant relation was seen between taking antibiotics at admission and clinical signs such as abdominal pain and suspicious food (p<0. 01). Data were analyzed throgh SPSS, version16. Chi Square test was used for analysis of data Conclusion: Virus is the main cause of diarrhea in children with gastroenteritis. Moreover, the most frequency of diarrhea was seen in autumn and spring season. However, there was no significant relation between seasons with bacterial and viral cases. It indicates that bacterial and viral diarrhea was not affected by season. For preventing microbial resistance, antibiotic therapy should be administered more carefully in children with diarrhea.

the methylation pattern of the promoter region. The study aimed to determine the association between promoter methylation pattern of the gamma-globin gene in the carriers and affected beta-thalassemia individuals and its expression levels. Methods: This study has been done as a case control-study. After taking blood samples from 30 patients and beta-thalassemia carriers and affected patients with fetal hemoglobin elevated as well as 30 normal individuals, genomic DNA was extracted. Six CpG sites of the promoter region and exon1 of the gammaglobin gene were analyzed by the bisulfite sequencing analysis method. Statistical analysis was carried out using a t-test. The values of p ≤ 0. 05 were considered significant for comparing two studied groups. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 16 software. Results: In this study, hypomethylation of the gamma-globin promoter region in the patients and carriers compared to showed a significant differences in three CpG sites +6,-53 and-162, respectively (p<0. 05). In addition, in three cases, CpG site in position-162 was semi methylated; this situation was markedly different from other samples of the patients and normal cases. Conclusion: Hypomethylation of the gamma-globin gene promoter probably has an auxiliary role in fetal hemoglobin increase.
