Aim: Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 or COVID-19 has become a major concern for health care professionals. Dentistry, because of the close contact with patients has a high risk of infection in students for this disease. This study aimed to assess dental students’ attitude, and perception regarding the coronavirus disease. Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in 2020 on 111 dental students of fourth to sixth year using census method. An online questionnaire from Khader et al. study about awareness of the incubation period, the symptoms of the disease, mode of transmission of COVID-19, infection control measures for preventing COVID-19; and their attitude toward treating patients with COVID-19 was applied. Data were analyzed by SPSS ver. 26, t-test and ANOVA. The significance level was set as P-Value≤ 0. 05. Results: Dental students were aged 21 to 36 years (mean 23. 89 years, SD 2. 73 years). A total of 90 (81. 1%) dental students had received training in infection control in dentistry, and 3 (2. 7%) had attended training or lectures regarding COVID-19. The mean scores for awareness and attitude-perception were 33. 55± 4. 19 and 6. 23± 1. 61, respectively. There were no significant differences in the level of awareness and attitude-perception between genders and different academic years. Conclusion: The findings of the present study showed that dental students’ awareness, attitude and perception towards COVID-19 are at an average level. Therefore, there is an important need for improving dental student in this era via health education and training programs.

Abstract:

Aim: Congenital anomalies are one of the leading causes of disabilities and mortality in children worldwide. We aimed to set up a system for scientific registration to reduce perinatal mortality and improve the quality of health services. Methods: As an applied developmental research in 2020, we launched a web-based hospital registration and surveillance system for major congenital anomalies by C# programming language hosted at "mis. hums. ac. ir". Data management was comprised of a) registration of anomalies b) training how to use ICD10 c) imaging specific cases d) assessing the accuracy of the data e) sending information to definite centers. All the live births, fetal deaths and pregnancy termination along with physical examination, reviewing hospital records and parental interviews were recorded. The present system is of two compartments including 43 maternal and 20 neonatal elements. Results: Initially, the system was set up based on hospital data in two main referral hospitals in Bandar Abbas. Next, all the hospitals in the province, were gradually covered by the system in an active and passive combination. Major congenital anomalies are registered using ICD-10. During the first four months after starting the project, one thousand births were registered and 18 cases of congenital malformations were observed and confirmed. Conclusion: This study provides the minimum data set required to record congenital anomalies for the first time in southern Iran. This event can be useful in designing electronic patient records. This, itself, will improve perinatal health indicators, particularly, prevention and management of congenital birth defects.

Abstract:

Aim: Choosing a field of study affects different aspects of people's lives. Therefore, the influencing factors of the choice of students can contribute to the transparency of this issue. Methods: This was a descriptive-analytical and cross-sectional study, conducted in 2019. The 243 people who made the sample were selected through Morgan table from the population which consisted of all the librarianship and medical information students between 2015 and 2019 in undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs. The data collection tool was a standard questionnaire. Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 24 by independent t-test and one-way analysis of variance. Results: The results indicated that among the five components of "interest in the field", "employment, income and social status", "the role of family and friends", "personal motivations and service to society" and "academic position and teaching staff of the university"; The component of "academic position and academic staff of the university" had the highest average (3. 35) and the component of "role of family and friends" had the lowest (2. 17). Conclusion: Since the name and academic position of the university had the greatest impact on the choice of field according to the results, it is expected that the authorities of public universities set the foundations for the scientific growth and prosperity of students. It is also recommended that programs be prepared to inform the students about the fields of librarianship and medical information at school level and through social media so that this field is selected with personal interest and high motivation.

Aim: COVID-19 is an epidemic that affects the entire world. This study was conducted at the beginning of 2021 with the aim of scientometrically drawing a map of COVID 19 in the Web of Science Information Database. Methods: The present applied research is of quantitative type and has been done by Scientometric method. This study was conducted in April 2021 using the Web of Science database. The sample population is all existing and related documents in the field of COVID in the database, which uses 101466 related keyword extraction and Scientometric analysis and illustration analysis using Excel and VOSviewer Software. Results: According to the information obtained, the publication of articles related to this issue has an upward trend. Most documents are in English and the United States is the largest producer of documents in this field. The most active authors are anonymous with 754 degrees and BMJ British Medical Journal magazine with 1363 titles, is the core and main magazine in COVID 19. This topic has 442 hot paper articles and 1966 highly cited article titles. Conclusion: This study provides an overview of COVID in the Web of Science Information Database that can be a guide and roadmap for researchers and the scientific audience.

Abstract:

Introduction: Due to the expansion of the duties of the medical profession, the resulting responsibilities, both civil and criminal, have taken on different dimensions. This study aimed to investigate the civil liability of non-physician medical staff towards patients from the perspective of comparative law. Information sources or data: In this study, Law articles about internal and foreign laws in the information databases of the judiciary and reputable information sources such as Google scholar, Scopus, SID, Web of Science during 2010 to 2021 (for English articles) and 1390 to 1400 (for Persian articles) were investigated. Boolean operators of or and were used along with the relevant keywords in the article search. Selection methods for study: In this descriptive-analytical review study conducted in 1400, the keywords "medical staff", "physician", "patient", "comparative law", "civil liability" were searched in valid databases. A total of 250 articles and 5 e-books were retrieved. After applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria (year of authorship, relevance, access to article texts and non-duplication), 23 articles and 3 e-books were studied and reviewed. Finally, the general rules of civil liability of medical staff were extracted. Combined content and result: In the Iranian legal system, the civil liability of medical staff is based on fault with the effects of compensation. American and British legal experts have accepted civil liability in the form of coercive guarantees. But French law, in addition to this liability for fault, also accepted liability without fault, which resulted from a harmful act. Conclusion: The main purpose of civil liability is to compensate the damage in full and try to put the victim in a position before the damage occurs. Therefore, the first method of compensation is objective compensation. The second method is to give a parable if possible, and in the last step, to give a loss of cash.

Abstract:

Introduction: One of the main challenges of technology transfer in Iran is the imperfect transfer of humanware and orgaware. This study sought a model for applying knowledge management to solve the challenge of technology transfer. Information sources or data: This comparative-analytical study was performed from 2020 to 2021. Library resources included articles, books, case reports, industrial reports and dissertations with keywords related to "technology transfer" and "knowledge management" published from 1990 to 2021 in Persian and English extracted in SID, Magiran, Civilica, RICeST, Irandoc, ISI, Science Direct, Google Scholar, Springer databases. Selection methods for study: Technology transfer and knowledge management models were initially studied descriptive-analytically. Then, five knowledge management models that met the criteria were adapted to the six phases of the technology transfer process in a comparative-analytic study. Combined content and result: Adaptation of the five models with six phases of acquisition, adaptation, absorption, application, development and dissemination of technology showed that none of the models alone are responsive to the considerations of technology transfer phases due to the complexity of technology transfer process. Therefore, a combination of several models was proposed to be adapted for each technology transfer phase. Conclusion: A combination of four knowledge management models including 5W1H, SCPTS, EKMM and Bhatt in accordance with the six phases of technology transfer can increase the chance of complete transfer.
