Before authoring Al-Mī, zā, n commentary in Qom, ‘, Allā, ma Ṭ, abā, ṭ, abā, ’, ī,had written another commentary named Tafsī, r al-bayā, n fī,al-muwā, faqa bayn al-ḥ, adī, th wa al-Qur’, ā, n in his birthplace, Tabriz, and this commentary is among the early bases of Al-Mī, zan. In this initial commentary, ‘, Allā, ma first gives in a fairly brief interpretation of the verses based on the interpretation of the Qur’, ā, n by Qur’, ā, n method, followed by mentioning the related narrations and the clarification of the relationship between the verses and the narrations. As the title of this commentary shows, narrations have an effective role in the interpretation of the verses. However, this does not mean that the commentary is limited to the narrations,rather, it entails various method of interpretation, including the interpretation of the Qur’, ā, n by Qur’, ā, n, the interpretation of the Qur’, ā, n by traditions, the interpretation of the Qur’, ā, n by literary rules, the interpretation of the Qur’, ā, n based on lexis, and the interpretation of the Qur’, ā, n based on intellect.
