Chahar Bagh School – Mosque as a treasure trove of Islamic relic art has a special position. The present research attempts to explain the position of inscriptions of this building as symbolic media in order to answer this main question: “ What are the most important symbolic messages reflected in the inscriptions of the Chahar Bagh school – mosque? ” , and “ how the messages are transmitted? ” The present study is descriptive-analytical. The data are collected using field study and library resources and they are analyzed qualitatively. The results of this study indicated that the most important and common messages transmitted to the audience through this symbolic media of Shiite art, based on a systematic process, regarding the interaction of the Shiite religion, religious beliefs and religious politics in the Safavid era, include expression of virtue, succession (caliphate), imamate, and reference to the supreme personality of Imam Ali, praise and modeling of Imam Ali's personality as the basis of the belief in Shiite art and the basis of the religious policy.
