Abstract:

Introduction: Nurses are an integral part of the health system and predicting their behaviors in different situations is important for policymakers and managers of the health system. The present study was conducted to determine efficiency of the theory of planned behaviour in predicting the behaviour of nurses in different situations. Methods: The current narrative review study was conducted via searching in electronic databases including PubMed, Scopus, Science Direct, SID, Magiran and Iran Medex and by using the appropriate English and Persian keywords of Attitude, Theory of Planned Behaviour, Behaviour, Behavioral Intention, Perceived Behavioral Control, Subjective Norms, Nursing Care over the period of 2000-2020. Result: Theory of planned behavior has been successfully used for prediction and explanation of a variety of behaviors and health tips such as high-risk behaviors, women’, s services, childbirth and breastfeeding, safety behaviors and oral health. According to the results of several studies, including studies in Korea and Taiwan, the above theory has been used to determine the causes of nurses 'behavior in patient care and the causes of nurses' activities in performing their duties. Conclusions: Predicting people's behavior and planning based on these predictions in specific situations certainly has a significant role on the performance of the organization and controlling the situation. On the other hand, human behavior is influenced by various factors and its prediction requires different factors. The theory of planned behavior has a suitable model for predicting the behavior of individuals, including nurses, and this model can be used to plan and policy in specific situations in the field of nurses' performance.

Abstract:

Introduction: Studies have shown that the level of basic psychological needs (autonomy, competence and communication) in nurses is low in proportion to their job position and this issue needs further investigation. Studies have also shown that communication, training and counseling can improve the level of self-determination needs, competence and autonomy in nurses. The effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral therapy on the level of self-determination needs (perceived autonomy, perceived competence, perceived communication) in nurses. Methods: In this quasi-experimental study, 40 nurses working in Milad Hospital in Tehran in 1400 were randomly selected and randomly divided into two groups of 20 people. The experimental group underwent cognitive-behavioral therapy in eleven sessions of 1. 5 hours and the control group did not receive any treatment. To collect data, the self-determination needs scale of Soribo et al. (2009) was used in the pre-test and post-test stages for both experimental and control groups. Research data were analyzed by multivariate analysis of covariance. Data analysis was performed using software (SPSS 21). Results: Statistical findings showed that the effect of group (level of independent variable) on self-determination needs (perceived autonomy, perceived competence, perceived relationship) was statistically significant (P = 0. 05). Findings also showed that cognitive-behavioral therapy had a positive and significant effect on the level of nurses' self-determination needs compared to the control group. Conclusions: The results showed that cognitive-behavioral therapy is effective in increasing the level of nurses' self-determination needs. Therefore, if nurses with low levels of self-determination, communication, autonomy and competence can be identified and can be helped to increase the desired level of self-determination using cognitive-behavioral therapy.

Abstract:

Introduction: During the Coronavirus 2019 pandemic, nurses who risked their lives worked hard to demonstrate their commitment to their profession and their patients. In this regard, the present review study was conducted to investigate post-traumatic stress, depression and anxiety of nurses during the coronavirus 2019 pandemic. Methods: In this study, a systematic review was searched by the keywords Coronavirus 2019, Depression, Post-traumatic Stress, Anxiety, Nurses, in the titles and abstracts of articles published in Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus and ScienceDirect databases. Abstracts of published articles were reviewed and finally 30 final articles were selected for comprehensive review and data extraction. Results: Nurses in the intensive care unit experienced more psychological problems than other nurses due to high workload and more exposure to patients with COVID-19. Lack of protective equipment, sleep deprivation of work pressure, activity in the coronary special ward, history of psychological disorders, being a woman, fear of infection and social isolation were among the factors that reduced the mental health of nurses during the outbreak of COVID-19. On the other hand, positive reassessment increased acceptance, self-efficacy, psychological resilience, and social support for nurses' mental health. Conclusions: Nurses have been dealing with this deadly virus since the early days of the outbreak of COVID-19. Therefore, in addition to the physical and social care that is provided, it is necessary to pay attention to the long-term psychological dimensions of COVID-19 in nurses to witness poststress disorder. From accidents, depression and low anxiety in the medical staff of hospitals.

Abstract:

Introduction: The aim of this study was to predict personality components based on functional nervous systems in nursing students of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. Methods: The study population consisted of all nursing students of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. The sample members were 350 (200 females and 150 males) nursing students who were selected by simple random sampling method (sample size was estimated according to Morgan table). Adult form personality questionnaires and Wilson personality questionnaire were used to collect data. The present study was a descriptive correlational type and the data were analyzed using simple correlation coefficient and simultaneous multiple regression. Results: Statistical findings showed that the value of R2 coefficient is equal to 0. 504, which means that functional nervous systems (inhibition, activation-reward, activation-driver and innovation) 50. 4% of the variance Explain the unusualness of the character. Findings also showed that all four predictor variables have a significant role in predicting personality abnormality, so that the variables activation-reward (p = 0. 001, β,= 0. 528), activation-driver (p = 0. 001, β,=-0. 188) and nouveau riche (p = 0. 001, β,=-0. 417) positively, and inhibition (p = 0. 001, β,= 0. 541) negatively predict the character abnormality Have. Conclusions: According to the findings of the present study, abnormal personality components are rooted in the natural and biological structures of personality. Accordingly, in order to better study them, special attention should be paid to functional nervous systems.
