Abstract:

The term context and its usage have had a slow development in the history of the exegesis, but in Allameh Tabatabaee’s Tafsir-al-Mizan, it has been used widely. In fact, it is one of the most basic principles in Allameh’s method of interpretation, i.e explaining verses by relying on the very text of the book (Quran by Quran exegesis method). However, there are some instances of overlooking context when Allameh has either given an independent interpretation of ayas (verses) or has done it next to contextual interpretation. This is not a sign of irregularity but rather the predominance of Spontaneous occurrence of meaning in some cases. The remarkable point is that though Allameh has utilized Spontaneous occurrence of meaning instead of context, he has not used the former as an independent term. The article has tried, next to the mentioning of Allameh’s basic exegetic method, i.e the usage of context, to offer an explanation of different kinds of context and its usage conditions, and finally extract the principles of usage of both context and Spontaneous occurrence of meaning in Quran by Quran exegesis method.

Abstract:

Semantic study of Quranic vocabulary is one of the new methods of research in the field of the holy Quran. In this method, to achieve the semantic network and seek some meaning layers of the verses, after selecting a certain group of words, the semantic fields and systematic communication of each word are investigated."Qawl "Speech" in the Koran covers a wide range of meanings the effects of which are one of the fields of this semantic network. Human speech is a part of his actions and it has various outcomes or effects for him. This research is an attempt towards achieving the effects of "speech" from the viewpoint of the Holy Quran by applying the semantic approach. The present article explains the speeches of different groups and their subsequent effects seeking to elaborate the positive and negative consequences of speech in various levels of creation, legislation, material world, the next world and the heart of human being.According to the Quran, speech has such high importance that it is recorded and written down giving its speaker the good deed, paradise and reward. It may also bring the deprivation of God’s mercy and His curse leading to sufferings and torture in the hell. The range of the effects of speech is to the extent that the heart of humans is affected by it and the good speech can pave the way for purification and communication of the heart. On the other hand, unworthy speech gives rise to impurity and sealing of the heart.

Abstract:

The knowledge of pause and commencement and its relationship with interpretation is significant in two ways. Firstly, the knowledge of pause and commencement in its mental and investigative sense is basically one of the Quranic sciences having a direct relationship with interpretation, which is revealing divine intents.Secondly, the knowledge of pause and commencement, in the objective and applied field, is one of the important techniques of recitation that has a direct relationship with understanding and conveying the meaning of the verse. This mutual relationship between pause and commencement and interpretation is to such an extent that in many cases, various interpretations are the main cause of differences in positions of pause and commencement.Likewise, difference in determination of positions of pause and commencement sometimes results in different meanings or interpretations of the verses. It’s obvious that divine intent is only one of the various interpretations. Thus, knowing the correct interpretation of the verse and reciting in such a way that leads to that divine intent is necessary. However, some of the reciters of the holy Quran perform unsuitable pause and commencement on the basis of an unsupported interpretation. In many cases, these pauses and commencements not only fail to convey the complete meaning, but also give a meaning contrary to divine intent. This kind of pauses is called Taassuph pause.Investigating the interpretations of certain instances of Taassuph pause, the present article seeks to distinguish the preferable view from its rivals based on adequate evidence. Thus the position of pause could be rightly recognized and the pause leading to a better and more complete meaning could be preferred.

Abstract:

The article “Shia and the Quran” compiled by Jewish Orientalist Bar Acher, by introducing some wrong opinions and highlighting some isolated and even rejected shiite sects, is seeking to offer a fabricated image of shia and its concept of the Quran. This article was published in Laiden Encyclopedia of the Quran which is amongst the best references about the Quran. This study, in addition to mentioning the content of the abovementioned article, criticizes the opinions of Bar Acher about the Shiite concept of the Quran by referring to authoritative shiite sources at first. Naturally we also have a glance at the scientific status of the writer.

Abstract:

Metaphor, as one of the most important literary devices, holds a high epistemological and aesthetic significance. Also in the field of translation studies, some experts maintain that translating metaphors is the hardest task. This is especially important in the translation of authoritative texts such as the holy Quran.By paying attention to past and present scholars’ opinions about the quality of translation and finding equivalent for Quranic metaphors we reach methods such as metaphorical translation, literal translation, meaning translation, etc. With due attention to definitions and function of translation and metaphor on the one hand and Quranic text quality, literal translation of Quranic metaphors combined with interpretations and the ultimate message of those seems to be the most suitable one. This is because one can maintain the structure, original style, and cultural features of the text while adding notes for helping readers grasp the ideas better. A survey of some existing translations shows that translatorS have confused readers by adopting inconsistent methods in translating metaphors, a fact which is rooted in the lack of a reliable theory of translation.

Abstract:

Happiness and rejoice are among humans’ mental and spiritual needs that play a role in various aspects of their lives. Meanwhile, many believers have occasionally been obsessed with the idea of the compatibility of both the form and content of rejoicing with the spirit of religion and human nature, and they have wondered about which kinds of the issue in question to be approved by the religious canon.A glance at divine faiths reveals the fact that they have paid due attention to both corporal and spiritual needs of mankind, and quite a few verses in the Quran and Old and New Testament prove the significance of the issue. The present article intends to survey the factors and kinds of happiness in the Holy Quran and Old and New Testament. It is concluded that true happiness can be achieved only through piety and religiousness.According to divine instructions, piety is the cause of happiness, and the Holy Quran specifically shows a comprehensive attitude towards the issue by taking all human dimensions into consideration and by relying on man’s natural needs that can lead him to blessing and salvation here in this world and in afterlife.

Abstract:

The preliminary step in achieving an efficient research is recognizing its various dimensions. Knowledge of up-to-date and practical research methods, especially in religious studies, is to be attached a special importance. Studies on religious teachings particularly those related to the Holy Quran, have undergone ups and downs in recent centuries. An effective factor in this regard has been the emergence of western thoughts most of which have become available through translation without considering Islamic/Iranian culture. Neglecting the ultimate goal of research in religious studies has almost confused scientific communities as it concerns the adoption of a correct methodology.Meanwhile, by returning to religious and Quranic teachings as the main sources of guidance towards reflection and contemplation, and by utilizing diverse epistemological instruments, the researcher can be directed more effectively to his goal.A survey of various research outlook and definitions and also the clarification of the true status of research in Quranic verses are among the topics covered by this article.
