Most thinkers and scientists of Islam strongly believe in interconnection of religion and politics since politics has a deep and undeniable relation with religion as a means in order to realize cherished goals of religion. Remarks of Imam Ali throughout Nahj al-Balagha indicate that he has founded the main policy of his government on the basis of social and economic justice and revitalization of religious and moral values and he has considered government as a holy responsibility, not an opportunity for siege. Alliance of Islamic nation has had a special value for Imam Ali so that he continued his silence, although suffering from grief, in order to prevent from the alliance cut off. In his government, such values as justice, equality, honesty, and avoiding siege have been regarded as crucial factors. Other aspects of the interconnection between religion and politics are evident in his character as “the ruler of Islamic society” which were determined here in terms of moral, social, and political sketches.
