Abstract: 

The purpose of this study was designing Strategic plan of Physical Education Office of Shahrood University. The research method is analytical – descriptive. The statistical sample of this research was (n=35) including, student associate principal of university, physical education staff, Physical Education professors and experienced coaches who selected by purposive sampling. For collecting the data were used of review literature and documents, interviews, questionnaire, surveys, forms for determining strategic issues and strategic meetings. The validity of SWOT questionnaire approved by several professors of sport management and experts and reliability confirmed according to Cronbach’s alpha (a=0.92). For analyzing the data, descriptive statistics, Friedman test, Internal and External factor matrixes, SWOT analyzing based on intuition and brainstorming were used to strategies developing. Results this research showed Physical Education Office of Shahrood University has 8 strengths, 9 weaknesses, 7 opportunities, and 8 threats. Accordingly, subjects such as mission statements, vision statements, and long - terms objectives, core values, strategic situation, strategies and plans were determined. Also, the analysis of internal and external matrix showed this office located in defensive (WT) strategic position. Seems the most important reasons for this undesirable situation to be lack of strategic plan for University sports development in Physical Education Office of Shahrood University.

Abstract: 

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of coaches’ servant leadership style with coach trust and perceived sport performance among collegiate sport teams. This research is descriptive- correlational type. The population of that consisted of all players of boy and girl collegiate sport teams (N=300) that participated in sport region 3 college, out of which 220 athletes completed and returned the questionnaires, That analyzed as study sample. In order to data gathering used Servant Leadership Style (Hammermeister, et al., 2008), trust in coach (Zhang, 2004) and perceived team performance (Glenn, 2003) scales. To determine the content questionnaires validity was used of comments 10 professors in the field. Their reliability using Cronbach's alpha, have been reported respectively 0.94, 0.86 and 0.93. To analyze the data were used of Pearson correlation and path analysis. Findings indicated that among subscales of servant leadership, Service has direct, positive and significant effect on coach trust and perceived sport performance. Endogenous Variables’ RSquare indicated that respectively 74% and 23% of the variance of coach trust and sport performance is explained by exogenous variables. Finally, all model indexes were favorable. The results show that athletes with coaches servant leadership style, show higher levels of confidence in the coach. Also this leadership style can improve athletic performance.

Abstract: 

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of manipulating sensory and cognitive interference on the dynamic balance task. The research sample was consisted of 60 students of Urmia University of Physical Education with the 25-19 age range. Subjects were targeted in four groups: control, impaired vision, impaired somatosensory and visual removed and performed balance task in the balance system dynamic, once without cognitive task and once with the cognitive task. For analyze the data were used Analysis of variance with repeated measures, ANOVA and Tukey test. Results showed significant main effects test type and interaction with effect of group (P£0.01). In other words, the secondary cognitive task has significant effects on the dynamic balance. ANOVA test results showed a significant difference between groups in both types of test. Finally, the results showed that there is a paired difference between the groups, except of visual impairment with sensory impairment groups. As a result, the increased cognitive load can disturbed perform of dynamic balance task. Also the dynamic balance task is related to somatosensory and visual information and Impairment of the senses, causing a decrease in performance of optimal task.

Abstract: 

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of post exercise (aerobic and resistance) milk intake on weight loss in female students. 80 obese students who were more than 10 kg overweight were studied (specified by body composition analyzer). After that 40 subjects were randomly assigned in two groups including aerobic and resistance + milk consumption and aerobic + resistance that 30 students finished the protocols. The subjects had some milk immediately and one hour after aerobic, resistance training. Exercise protocol consisted of six weeks, three days a week. The data analysis using tindependent test suggested that exercise + milk group had a significant improvement in weight loss parameters including Body Fat Percent (p=0.04), Total Body Fat (p=0.03), Waist-Hip ratio (p=0.03), and Muscle Mass (p=0.002) compared to exercise group. Conclusively, aerobic-resistance exercises followed by milk intake seem to be effective in body composition and also improve the physical health status.

Abstract: 

Mental Toughness (MT), which refers to an inner focus and commitment to rise above challenges when facing adversity, is viewed as one of the most important psychological attributes in determining success in sport. The purpose of this study was determining validity and reliability of the Persian version of Mental Toughness Scale to assess MT for use with college athletes. For this purpose, 227 collegiate athletes in different sport fields were chosen by random sampling and completed the Persian version of scale. The method of the research was as follows: first, with use of translation-back translation methods, face validity and translate accuracy of Persian version of questionnaires were questionnaire was confirmed. Confirmatory factor analysis based on structural equations modeling was used for validation of structure of questionnaire, Cronbach alpha coefficient was used for internal consistency of questionnaire, and intra-class correlation coefficient under test-retest method was used to study temporal reliability of items. The results showed that the mental toughness Scale had has acceptable fit index, internal consistency (0.87), and temporal reliability (0.85), indicating good validity and reliability of the Persian version of mental toughness scale. Also the results supported 1-factor and 11-item structure of the initial of scale. Therefore, The Persian version of the mental toughness scale can be characterized as a valid and reliable tool to evaluate the mental toughness of Iranian collegiate athletes.

Abstract: 

Recognizing sport and physical activity motives among different groups and communities will help planners to assume necessary measures in order to remove the barriers and motivate people doing physical activities. Hence, the purpose of this survey was to investigate the physical activity motives among Iranian academic community in order to develop sport for all at the universities and present a proper model. This survey was descriptive and a sample consisting of the university academics, staff and students across Iranian national universities (n=779) answered a questionnaire developed by the researcher on physical activity motives. Collected data by the 30-items physical activity motives questionnaire analyzed using the exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and 29 items with appropriate factor loading were classified in five factors namely progress & achievement, physiological advantages, social interactions, interest to physical activity, and health & wellness. Conducting confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), progress & achievement had most relationship with physical activity motives (loading=0.92). Social interactions having least loading (0.68) stood at the last order. It seems that, familiarity of the universities’ sports officials with the motivational factors recognized in this study, could prepare the way for the utilization of the proper measures in order to motivate Iranian academic community to do physical activities and their sport participation and also cause the proper redirecting financial resources in this area.
