Abstract:

2The issue of the possible relationship between criminal acts and seizures, which are symptoms of epilepsy, is of vital importance. If there is such a relationship, the seizure may be considered an exculpatory or mitigating factor in the judicial trial. There are many case reports of patients with epilepsy who have been called to court for criminal acts and acquitted. But other studies show that seizures are rarely the cause of criminal acts. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to review the literature and reports related to the relationship between seizures and the occurrence of criminal acts and how to distinguish a guilty person with epilepsy from an innocent person. The results of this research show that violence leading to crime occurs too rarely in the ictal period, and in the interictal period, factors other than the seizure itself, such as low intelligence, the economic and social status of the patient, or other comorbidity diseases, play a very important role in the occurrence of crime. Therefore forensic experts should follow the existing instructions to investigate the claim of the defendants regarding the role of seizures in the occurrence of criminal acts.

2Introduction: One of the common problems of old age is cognitive disorders that seriously affect the daily life of the elderly. This research was conducted with the aim of the effectiveness of perceptual-motor exercises on the working memory of elderly women with mild cognitive impairment who use drugs. Methods: This research was practical and with a semi-experimental method with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group. The statistical population consisted of elderly women over 65 years of age with mild cognitive impairment, drug users and inactive residents of nursing homes in Tehran. 30 elderly people living in one of the nursing homes were selected based on the inclusion criteria and randomly divided into two groups of 15 people, experimental and control. Participants completed Folstein Cognitive Status and Wechsler Memory questionnaire. The control group did their daily activities. The experimental group participated in the perceptual-motor training program three sessions a week for eight weeks. Both groups took their medicines regularly. After the training program, both groups completed the Wechsler Memory questionnaire again. Univariate analysis of covariance and SPSS version 20 software were used for data analysis (P≤0. 05). Results: The results of the statistical analysis after the training intervention showed a significant improvement in the post-test scores of the experimental group in the working memory variable (P=0. 009) compared to the control group. Conclusion: According to the results of the research, it is suggested to the elderly and managers of nursing homes to use perceptual-motor exercises in order to improve cognitive health, according to their individual ability and environmental facilities.

Abstract:

2Introduction: Degenerative spondylolisthesis is one of the most common diseases of the spine, which means sliding forward (listhesis) of the spine (spondylosis). The precise role of fast joint tropism in the development of degenerative spondylolisthesis is doubtful and debated. The purpose of the present study was to determine the relationship between the pedicle-facet angle and the vertebral facet orientation in the sagittal plane in patients with degenerative spondylolisthesis. Methods: The present study was of an analytical type comparing two groups, which was conducted in 1402 at Al-Zahra Hospital in Isfahan. 120 people were randomly included in the study, 60 people were in the case group (patients with back pain or sciatica pain) and 60 people were in the control group (without back pain and sciatica pain). CT scan images were prepared for patients according to the protocol, and then images were made in other anatomical planes using MPR. Axial CT scan images were taken to observe the upper surface of L3-S1 vertebral pedicle. Data was analyzed by using SPSS. Results: The findings showed that the average facet pedicle angle at all levels in the case group was higher than the control group at the same level. At L3-L4 level, a significant difference was seen between the average pedicle fast angle in the case and control groups. The incidence of tropism in L3-L4 and L5-S1 levels was higher in the case group than in the control group. In this study, there was no significant difference between the average tropism in the case and control groups in any of the levels. Also, the study did not show a significant difference between the average vertebral slip in the case and control groups in any of the levels. Conclusion: This study showed that the percentage of people with fast tropism in two groups is not significantly different. The findings of this study indicate that fast tropism is not related to degenerative spondylosis.
